Hi, I'm Bryna Hackett, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I strive to create a collaborative therapeutic environment that develops strengths and resources to help reduce suffering and distress, while providing a new outlook on life. My focus has included working with adults struggling with chronic medical conditions, anxiety, depression, psychosocial stressors, BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Our initial session will focus on building connection and understanding what you are looking to gain from therapy. I take a holistic approach and I think it is important to get an understanding of you as person, not just the "issue" you want to explore. During our time together, I will be your navigator through the twists and turns of working to get to a place of reduced stress, suffering, and distress.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches when working with individuals, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Humanistic Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy.
My biggest strength is that I connect with others in a way that makes them feel comfortable and seen. I am adaptable and do not have a "one size fits all" approach; I meet each person where they are and individualize treatment to meet the needs of each client.
Bryna Hackett offers therapy covered by Kaiser Permanente - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Virginia.
