In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is all about getting to know you—your story, your needs, and your goals. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what’s weighing on you most right now, and what you’d like to get out of our work together. You can expect a safe, supportive space where you don’t have to pretend or perform. I take a collaborative, conversational approach so it won’t feel like a rapid-fire intake interview. You can come as you are—messy thoughts and all—and we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, supported, and a little lighter.

What sets me apart is the safe, judgment-free environment I create where clients can be their full, unfiltered selves. I lead with authenticity, empathy, and a little humor to make therapy feel both transformative and human. With several years of experience and licensure in six states (GA, SC, TX, DC, RI, and VA), I bring a culturally competent, trauma-informed lens to every session. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and real—I’m not afraid to challenge you when needed, but always with compassion. Whether you're navigating trauma, identity, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm, I tailor our sessions to meet you where you are and help you move toward where you want to be. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I frequently incorporate CBT in my work to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that impact mood and behavior. Together, we break the cycle of negative thinking and replace it with more balanced, realistic thoughts. I use worksheets, thought records, and psychoeducation to support clients in building self-awareness and practical coping skills.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mindfulness practices such as grounding, breathwork, body scans, and present-moment awareness to help clients regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, and reconnect with themselves. I often encourage journaling and mindfulness apps to build consistency and empower clients to use these tools in their daily lives.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT allows me to help clients set clear, achievable goals and focus on solutions rather than staying stuck in problems. I often use this approach when clients need fast, focused support or during transitional life stages. We explore what’s working, identify strengths, and create small, actionable steps toward change.

Strength-Based

I deeply value meeting clients where they are and helping them recognize their existing strengths, resilience, and wins—big or small. This approach empowers clients to feel seen, heard, and capable, especially in times when self-worth feels low. I help clients tap into these inner resources as they move through healing and growth.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use TF-CBT with clients who have experienced trauma, helping them process difficult memories in a structured and supportive way. I combine psychoeducation, grounding techniques, and narrative processing to promote emotional healing and reduce trauma-related symptoms. Creating safety, trust, and empowerment is always central to the process.
