Hello, I am Jasmine Walker! I am a proud graduate of The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work where I specialized in clinical social work with a focus on children and families. When I am not in the therapeutic space, I am very intentional about pouring into self through exercising, playing basketball, and traveling the world. I am seen by many as a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and trying new things. I've learned that to show up as my best for my clients, I first have to take care of self. With over 10 years of experience in therapy and care coordination, I bring a holistic lens to the work we will do together. My approach considers both your internal experiences and the external factors shaping your life, which helps me see the full story behind a person's strengths and challenges. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life's challenges with compassion, authenticity, and understanding. My practice is rooted in a person-centered approach, emphasizing empathy, respect, and the belief that every person holds the capacity for growth and self-discovery. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs. My clinical background includes working with children who have experienced trauma, individuals navigating anxiety, as well as adults who are moving through major life transitions or adjusting to new chapters in their lives. I take a compassionate and collaborative approach meeting individuals where they are, helping them to slow down, understand their emotional world, and build strategies that make real change possible. Whether you're managing stress, coping with anxiety, rebuilding after difficult experiences, or simply working to deepen your self-awareness, I'm here to walk alongside you with support.

Hi, I’m Dominique Austin! Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in creativity, connection, and lifelong learning. I love to explore new perspectives through travel, yoga, and museums in the city—and at home, I find peace in caring for my plants while enjoying a neo soul playlist. Friends and family often describe me as empathetic, loving, and comical at times, qualities I like to carry into all areas of my life. Professionally, I began my career in social work after receiving my bachelors from The University of North Texas. Initially serving as an advocate for underprivileged communities, I took pleasure in fundraising and connecting individuals to resources that improved their lifestyle. I furthered my education at Texas Woman's University where I received my Masters in Counseling and Human Development and continued my passion for healing work through trauma and grief therapy for individuals impacted by homelessness, sexual assault, and domestic violence.

Hi, I’m Jessi Gholami, a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland, Michigan, and Washington, DC. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, and adults as they navigate challenges such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, parenting stress, and major life transitions. I like to keep therapy structured enough to give you direction, but flexible enough to meet you where you are. I pull from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, organizational skill-building, and Internal Family Systems—but I won’t just hand you a textbook strategy. I want us to figure out what actually works for you. Our sessions aren’t just about talking; they’re about finding tools you can use in real life so you feel more confident outside of our time together. Being a parent can be both rewarding and overwhelming. As a certified PCIT therapist, I provide live-coaching positive parenting strategies to caregivers in order to boost their child’s self-esteem, attention span, parent-child attachment, prosocial behaviors, and listening and compliance. This treatment also decreases negative attention-seeking behaviors, tantrums, & aggression. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: every person has inherent worth and dignity. Life doesn’t come with a manual, families are messy, and everyone has struggles. I don’t believe therapy should come with judgment, rigid rules, or strings attached. Instead, I aim to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and equipped to grow. Patterns from the past often show up in our present—whether in relationships, families, or work. I believe healing is possible when we recognize our inner strengths, challenge unhelpful patterns, and practice skills. Outside of my work, I love hiking, swimming, baking, and walking my dog, Teddy.

You’ve taken a big step towards a better life. My goal will be to work with you and guide you towards achieving your best outcome. Let’s see if we’re a good fit. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW, I bring to the table a wide range of experience and perspectives on life. This is my second career, and I chose it because I strongly believe that I can help individuals improve their quality of life. Depression, anxiety, relationships, career difficulties, life transitions, burnout… these are some of the issues that cause us to lose our equilibrium. To reestablish equilibrium, we will use cognitive behavior therapy, my principle area of expertise. We will look at behaviors that aren’t working for you and replace them with behaviors that improve your daily life. I believe wholeheartedly in a holistic approach to therapy and foremost is the importance of self-care. You will learn how self-care enhances self-respect, and how important these two factors are for establishing a firm foundation for the new, improved you. And there will be homework assignments each week related to current goals: the harder you work, the greater your progress. You have to be “in it to win it.” My first career was in business, and I utilize some basic business principles in my psychotherapy, most notably organization skills and the allocation of your inner resources. This has worked well in my psychotherapy with chronic illness clients, with clients in the military, with business executives and retirees, new careerists, and parents, just to name a few. Are you ready to work hard and bring your best game? I’m ready to work with you and show you how, together, we can build a better path forward. My name is Willard and I am a licensed counselor in several states. My practice primarily focuses on helping others deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I help others to be okay with things that are beyond their control and work with them to establish themselves as the protagonist in their own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C/LICSW) with over 12 years of experience supporting adults through trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. My practice is rooted in creating safe, culturally responsive spaces for Black women, queer adults and healers to rest, restore, and be fully seen. I integrate evidence-based methods like Trauma-Focused CBT and Motivational Interviewing with somatic, mindfulness and expressive arts practices - so healing happens not just in the mind, but also in the body and spirit. Whether you’re healing from trauma, navigating identity, or seeking greater presence in your daily life, our work will unfold at a pace that feels safe and sustainable. Sessions emphasize compassion, embodiment, and choice—helping you restore a sense of connection and ease. I currently accept Cigna, Humana-Medicare, and EAP clients, with additional insurance panels in progress. Private-pay and out-of-network clients are warmly welcome. Superbills are available for reimbursement. Learn more about my practice at: www.littlebirdhealingcollective.com

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by District of Columbia rather than a neighborhood like Adams Morgan?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across District of Columbia from The Navy Yard to Georgetown! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in District of Columbia.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Trauma and PTSD?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in District of Columbia that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
