LPC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
Since I was a high schooler in Washington, DC I knew I wanted to be a therapist. Learning about peer mediation at that time inspired me to learn more about how to best support healthy relationships and community wellness. I began my studies in psychology at Vassar College and completed my master's training at The Johns Hopkins University School of Education in 2016. Since that time I've worked in community mental health settings as a licensed professional counselor providing individual and group therapy to children, adults and families. My training has focused on trauma-informed approaches in treating ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders and anxiety.
In our first session we will compete a full assessment exploring what brings you to therapy, your past experiences with treatment and current symptoms/challenges that impact your daily life. We'll work on identifying your goals for therapy to help me best understand what you want to gain from the experience.
My training is steeped in trauma recovery and understanding how our experiences impact present day challenges. We use curious and compassionate approaches to build self awareness and understanding to cultivate a therapeutic relationship where my clients feel well supported and encouraged to make the changes they want for their lives. Therapy is not one size fits all so I support my clients in exploring and finding what they need and what would work best for them to achieve their wellness goals.
If you are hoping to learn ways to better cope with stress, loss, and the multitude of emotions that impact our daily life then consider scheduling an appointment with me. Therapy is your time to explore, feel heard, understood and encouraged to find your pathway to wellness and fulfillment.
I utilize DBT and CBT approaches to help my clients identify their goals and build skills to support them with coping with internal and external stressors that can impact one's quality of life.
