Hello! My name is Maria. I have 7 years working with a diverse set of population focused on traumas such as sexual abuse, foster care, divorce and end of life. I have experience treating depression, anxiety and grief. My focus is to help you build the best coping skills while creating a safe environment for you to be able to talk about whatever bring you into therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I really like to take the time to get to know each other you get to see if I am a good fit for you. This is the time I take the opportunity to ask you questions to see what it is you need assistance with and if I am a match for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a diverse set of clients ranging from children to elderly, I have found my true passion in creating a safe and welcoming environment. I want you to be able to focus on building healthy and strong coping skills that will aid in your success to become the best version of yourself.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a proven therapeutic model that helps restructure the mind. With a trained clinician like ourselves, I am confident symptoms like depression, anxiety and negative self esteem can be aided.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have used DBT to help patients that need help bringing awareness to themselves and their surroundings.

Motivational Interviewing

I like to utilize motivational interviewing to help a patient see how motivated they are to change, where they are in the change process and get them to their desire destination/ goals.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have been able to use TF- CFT when working with children and adolescents who have experience sexual abuse. By building coping skills then talking about the trauma children have experience, it create a safe place for them to open up.
