(she/her)
Hello. I am a licensed social worker in California. I began practicing in the mental health/behavioral health field in 2011. I originally was licensed in Maryland in 2015 but then returned to California in 2016. Since starting in the field, I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 years old to 75 years old; most experience working with individuals between the ages of 10 and 35. I have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, and relationship issues. I am an ally of the LGBTQI community and can provide a safe, telehealth space for them. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot accommodate individuals seeking letters for emotional support animals or those mandated by the court or legal system for therapy. With that said, my goal in being a counselor, is to assist my clients in meeting their identified treatment needs. I am flexible and willing to do whatever I need to do to assist you and help you in any way that I can. If when viewing my profile, you feel as though I am a good fit, but my schedule does not meet your scheduling needs, please feel free to send me a message as I may be able to fit you in at a different time. I work evenings and weekends.
First session will be an introduction to each other including therapy expectations, confidentiality, and frequency of sessions. It will also include obtaining background information and reasons for treatment.
My strengths with counseling are working with individuals with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I also have experience working with relationship concerns, motivation issues, and self-care issues.
Ideal clients that I am able to work with are clients who experience mild to moderate levels of depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and ADHD symptoms. Also individuals experiencing relationship issues, work-related stressors, and other interpersonal issues. Clients who would like to better manage their symptoms through the use of learning coping strategies. Preferably, adults 18 and over. Okay if clients have difficulty engaging during sessions.

I was referred to Ellen when completing intake. It was my first time trialing this type of therapy to openly discuss various topics of where my state of mind currently is. She's been great when it comes to actively listening and sharing her thoughts with follow up questions that I feel are geared towards deeper reflection.

I just completed my initial therapy session and I was actually very hesitant to schedule anything that wasn't going to be in person and I have to say that I immediately felt comfortable with Ellen. She was very present during our appointment and I felt heard and she actively and intelligently responded to my responses. She brought up many very thought-provoking subjects and made very relevant and compassionate points to the answers that we discussed. I look forward to continuing therapy with her
