Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of Northern California. I began working in mental health in 2012 and have a deep passion for the work that I do. I graduated with my Master's in Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix in 2019 and have been practicing as a therapist ever since. My career began in community based mental health, where I passionately served impoverished families, those navigating addiction, and crisis management. I value taking time to build strong relationships with the clients I serve and moving towards therapy full time has allowed me the space to cultivate long lasting relationships with clients.
I create a casual environment where we spend time really getting to know each other. I will share some brief information about myself and collaborate with you to create a goal plan for our time together. I allow clients to go as quickly or slowly as needed and I ask for consent along the way as we get to know each other. I often utilize a balance of authentic connection and laughter.
I am known for my relatability, ability to connect easily, and being very transparent with my clients. I will genuinely sit with you in your pain and can equally laugh with you and celebrate your wins.
I love working with adults who often feel out of place, stuck, or anxious in their identity within the world. This could be someone who is at a crossroads, feels stuck in their day to day life, or struggle to find their voice. I enjoy working adults of all backgrounds who are looking to grow their confidence and strengthen that inner voice.
The clients that I often work with have a history of trauma and I have found that attachment based methods help to teach the client how they see the world around them, the attachments they make within the world, and offer tools to attach in a more meaningful way.
I utilize DBT frequently within my sessions to help clients become more present in their bodies and mindful in their daily living.
Humanistic theory is where my identity began as a therapist and it aligns most authentically to who I am as a person and the ideals I bring into the therapeutic space with my clients. This will often be the grounding method or "heart" of our treatment together.
