Hi! My name is Samantha and I am a clinical social worker in both NY and FL with a decade of experience treating adults in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. My experience has been at NYU Langone Medical Center and Moffitt Cancer Center specifically in psychiatry, rehabilitation, and oncology. I've counseled patients and families through life-threatening illnesses, grief and bereavement and adjustment processes. Currently, I work with individuals in private practice dealing with a spectrum of mental health and mood disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first therapy session, we will get to know each other and establish rapport. We'll start by discussing your specific experiences and concerns, which will guide us in identifying the most relevant strategies for you. In future sessions, I will provide you with evidence-based techniques and tools designed to help you navigate and reduce symptoms. My goal is to make you feel safe and comfortable talking about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I combine my clinical knowledge with a warm, compassionate, and client-centered approach. I strive to empower my clients to rediscover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and find joy in life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. I help clients identify and challenge negative or distorted thoughts to develop healthier thinking patterns, enhancing their overall coping abilities.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In ACT, we learn to accept anxiety rather than trying to eliminate it. ACT teaches us how to move through discomfort in order to engage more fully in life. This approach is particularly useful for anxiety, panic, OCD, and depression.

Grief Therapy

I have extensive experience counseling those dealing with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Grief therapy helps us recognize that our responses to loss are normal and that there is no right or wrong way to grieve. I help clients work through their feelings of loss and develop coping skills to manage the intense emotions and practical challenges that arise during the grieving process.
