Welcome to my profile! Whether you're struggling with anxious thoughts, distressing feelings, identity concerns, unhelpful behavioral patterns, or difficulty navigating relationships, you've come to the right place. My goal as your therapist is to foster understanding and insight, paving the way towards alleviation of suffering. I adopt a stance of compassionate curiosity, offering a space in which judgment is absent. It is within this space that our work will take place and your healing journey can find its roots.
I usually reserve the first two sessions as intake visits. This means that, during these initial sessions, I'll be asking questions related to the issue(s) that brought you into therapy, as well as the history and context of those issue(s). I'll also ask about different areas of your life, such as those pertaining to your family, childhood, social life, and work life. The first two visits are also a good opportunity for us to determine if we will be a good match for each other.
The biggest strengths I adopt are patience, curiosity, and a non-judgmental stance that takes into consideration potential impacts of larger societal factors.
My experience has been diverse in terms of the types of people I have treated. I have worked with both individual and couples, and both young and older adults. I have also worked with people from a wide-range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, as well as those from the LGBTQ+ community. I am particularly passionate about helping those who wish to understand themselves, others, and their relationships more fully.
Psychoanalytic
I’ve been using the psychoanalytic approach since the start of my career as a therapist, and I’ve found what the clinical research has also concluded: that patients discover and heal from deeply-rooted internal conflicts that cause the difficulties from which they suffer. This approach fosters authenticity, insight, alleviation from suffering, and increased quality of relationships with oneself and others. Through the use of this in-depth form of talk therapy, I will gradually assist you in learning more about yourself, enabling a deeper understanding of symptoms, and growth towards the most authentic version of yourself. Whatever conflict, struggle, or symptom you’re dealing with, I’ll be by your side every step of the way on your healing journey.
