I am a retired Army paratrooper. After the military, I owned a tree business as a tree climber (for a brief period). I worked in the public school system for 7-years as an educator. As a clinician, I served in a non-public level-5 school with students from all over the state of Maryland; with suicide and crisis; with human trafficked girls; with marriage/couples and families; and sexual and substance addictions. Over the years, my experiences have included people living on the streets of Baltimore to the fast paced life of the D.C./Alexandria area. It has included the misunderstood educators during the stressful school year and decompressing summers to the misunderstood law enforcement, military, veteran, and first responders faithfully serving the public without question each day and night. Two core values of mine are respect and dignity. I believe that the greatest independent person is a person that knows how to be dependent on others in the right way, with the right amount of intensity, and for the right amount of time. An independent person knows where dependence on someone else makes them stronger, safer, wiser, lovelier and more successful in life and in relationships.

I currently offer in-person sessions only at my office in Abingdon, Virginia. I'm Rebecca, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) provider. I specialize in working with young women and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating complex trauma, addiction, and nervous system overwhelm. My practice is intentionally focused on clients who feel stuck, disconnected, or burnt out from traditional talk therapy. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices like EMDR, DBT, and CBT. I bring deep respect for the ways we learn to survive—and a gentle curiosity for what healing might look like when survival mode softens. Sessions with me are collaborative and honest, and I strive to create a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and attuned to your unique needs. For clients who feel blocked, numb, or unable to access deeper parts of themselves, I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy as a complementary option. In partnership with Journey Clinical, I provide preparation, dosing, and integration sessions for clients who are medically cleared for ketamine treatment. KAP isn’t a magic fix, but it can help open emotional pathways that traditional therapy sometimes can’t reach on its own. Healing with me isn’t about figuring out what’s “wrong” with you—it’s about understanding what happened to you, and how your system learned to adapt. The work we do together is about coming home to yourself with compassion, safety, and a sense of agency.
