I'm Rebecca, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP). I specialize in trauma, mental health, and substance abuse treatment, utilizing a variety of evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and IFS. My goal is to create a supportive and compassionate environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop effective coping strategies, and work towards meaningful, lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, we'll focus on getting to know each other and creating a comfortable, safe space for you to share your story. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. I'll ask about your background, including your personal and mental health history, to better understand your unique situation. This initial session is an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a feel for how we might work together. My aim is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my empathy, adaptability, and extensive experience. My treatment methods

Eclectic

As an eclectic therapist, I draw from various evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to tailor my methods to each client's unique needs. This flexible approach allows me to provide personalized and effective care, addressing both immediate concerns and long-term goals. My aim is to create a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards meaningful change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, especially those stemming from trauma. Through CBT, you'll learn to develop healthier ways of thinking and coping with life's challenges, which can significantly improve your overall well-being. This approach is particularly effective for managing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues, guiding you toward healing and a more balanced life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I frequently incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my practice to help clients delve into and heal their inner emotional landscapes. IFS recognizes that the mind is composed of different parts, each with its own feelings and viewpoints, often shaped by trauma. By understanding and harmonizing these parts, clients can achieve greater self-awareness, compassion, and emotional balance. This method is especially powerful for addressing trauma and promoting profound, lasting healing.

EMDR

In my practice, I often use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR utilizes guided eye movements to assist in reprocessing traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity. This evidence-based approach can significantly alleviate distress from past trauma, enabling you to move forward with greater peace and resilience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my practice, I often utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients navigate intense emotions and enhance their relationships. DBT integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices, fostering skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This method is particularly effective for individuals dealing with trauma, borderline personality disorder, and other emotional challenges, helping you achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
