I'm Rebecca, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) with a passion for supporting young women and LGBTQ+ individuals as they heal from complex trauma, addiction, and emotional overwhelm. My practice is intentionally focused on clients navigating trauma-related and substance use challenges, and I strive to create a space that feels safe, affirming, and empowering. I do not currently offer services to cisgender men, as my clinical focus is dedicated to populations where I can offer the most effective and aligned care. I integrate evidence-based practices like EMDR, DBT, and CBT to support deep, lasting transformation. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that healing happens when we feel truly seen and safe.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, we'll focus on getting to know each other and creating a comfortable, safe space for you to share your story. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. I'll ask about your background, including your personal and mental health history, to better understand your unique situation. This initial session is an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a feel for how we might work together. My aim is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my empathy, adaptability, and extensive experience. I have a deep capacity to understand and connect with my clients, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for healing. My eclectic approach allows me to tailor therapy to each individual's needs, drawing from various evidence-based techniques. Additionally, my specialized training in trauma and substance abuse equips me to address complex issues with sensitivity and expertise. This combination of personal connection, flexibility, and specialized knowledge enables me to effectively support my clients on their journey to recovery and growth.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with young women between the ages of 16 and 40 who have experienced complex trauma, are navigating addiction, or identify as LGBTQ+. My ideal clients are those who feel the weight of their past and are ready - maybe even for the first time - to explore how those experiences have shaped their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Whether you're struggling with emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, or the aftermath of trauma, my role is to hold space for your healing. Together, we’ll work to untangle the pain, rebuild your inner sense of safety, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and free.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

As an eclectic therapist, I draw from various evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to tailor my methods to each client's unique needs. This flexible approach allows me to provide personalized and effective care, addressing both immediate concerns and long-term goals. I aim to create a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards meaningful change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, especially those stemming from trauma. Through CBT, you'll learn to develop healthier ways of thinking and coping with life's challenges, which can significantly improve your overall well-being. This approach is particularly effective for managing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues, guiding you toward healing and a more balanced life.

EMDR

In my practice, I often use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR utilizes guided eye movements to assist in reprocessing traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity. This evidence-based approach can significantly alleviate distress from past trauma, enabling you to move forward with greater peace and resilience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my practice, I often utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients navigate intense emotions and enhance their relationships. DBT integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices, fostering skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This method is particularly effective for individuals dealing with trauma, borderline personality disorder, and other emotional challenges, helping you achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
