Hi, I'm Amanda! Welcome to my safe space. I specialize in helping survivors of abuse trauma reclaim safety, confidence, and self-trust. My work focuses on supporting adults, youth, couples, and families recovering from all forms of abuse — including physical, sexual, emotional, mental, financial, spiritual/religious, systemic, and social/relational abuse, as well as cult recovery, stalking, group mobbing, workplace bullying and harassment, childhood bullying, neglect, domestic violence, shunning, social exclusion, and family dysfunction. I provide a safe, multicultural, intersectional, and identity-affirming space to process trauma, rebuild a sense of agency, and develop healthy relationships with self and others. I’m one of the few BIPOC women therapists in my region who provide multicultural, intersectional, and affirming care, with a particular focus on religious trauma caused by spiritual abuse, church hurt, and high-control leaders/groups. I support survivors in reclaiming their voice, identity, and connection to self after experiences of spiritual, systemic, physical, sexual, mental, and/or emotional harm.
The first couple of sessions are used for your intake. This involves me getting to know you, including your background, symptoms, behaviors, challenges, strengths, supports, therapy goals, and processing any concerns you may have. During the initial intake session, my main goal is to build a strong rapport and therapeutic alliance with you by allowing you to express yourself and to help you feel heard, validated, understood, and supported. This process also involves completing and reviewing assessments together.
My therapeutic approach is humanistic, holistic, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, intersectional, and affirming. This means that I view each client as a whole individual, considering emotional, physical, mental, and social well-being rather than focusing only on symptoms. From a humanistic and person-centered perspective, I believe that people have an innate capacity for growth and healing when they feel genuinely understood and accepted. My role is to provide a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, gain self-awareness, and develop tools for change at your own pace. A trauma-informed approach guides how I ensure emotional safety in therapy. I recognize how overwhelming experiences can affect the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self. I work gently, prioritizing trust, choice, and empowerment so that clients can process painful memories or patterns without feeling retraumatized. As a holistic therapist, I integrate mindfulness, grounding, and practical coping skills to support balance in both mind and body. My greatest strengths are compassion, empathy, creativity, and the ability to listen deeply between the lines. I empower through encouragement, planning, helping clients with problem-solving, and teaching them to use their strengths. I help clients feel seen, valued, and supported while offering realistic perspectives and collaboration. My goal is to help each person move toward clarity, confidence, and lasting emotional well-being.
Many of the clients that I work with also experience related challenges such as depression, anxiety, mood instability, panic attacks, stress, grief, phobias, social anxiety, fatigue, sleep issues, dissociation, paranoia, low self-worth, isolation, loss of motivation or purpose, identity confusion, body image concerns, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal ideation and behaviors, interpersonal issues, pregnancy and fertility issues, economic issues, substance abuse, and addiction. I work best with clients who are overcoming difficult past and present situations, navigating grief, loss, painful experiences, or major life changes, and want to find healing and meaning in the process. I enjoy supporting people who are ready to rebuild their lives, strengthen their relationships, and explore new possibilities. Together, we’ll turn painful endings into fresh beginnings, nurture self-worth, and build confidence through practical tools, creativity, and emotional healing.
