I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and major life transitions. Clients I work with often feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure of what comes next. My role is to offer a calm, supportive space where you can better understand yourself, build practical skills, and move toward a life aligned with your values and meaningful to you.
I have been a mental health professional for more than twenty years, working with individuals who often find themselves at a crossroads and unsure where to begin in addressing what they are feeling. My experience spans a variety of settings, including community mental health, public schools, disability services, and outpatient care. These experiences have allowed me to work with people from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges. I strive to provide a supportive, compassionate environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.
I offer a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. I am an AK amputee, a person with a disability, a disabled person, a one-legged person, or as medical folks will say a person with a "residual limb" (I have never heard an amputee call their stump a residual limb). If you have been looking for a therapist and you see the photo they choose to put on their page, how many put their disability in their photo? That choice says something. I am also a psychotherapist with 50 years experience of providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and families. My identity shifted 10 years ago when my right leg was amputated above the knee (AK). The identity as a disabled person is not a sought after identity. In many ways being disabled sucks big time. Providing telehealth services would be one way for me to "hide" my disability. Just never point the camera toward my leg. I don't like my experience of me just walking into a room and my leg has already introduced me long before I say my name. I am looking for clients that are disabled in some way and want to work on not letting that "disability label " suck your lifeblood away.
I use several treatment modalities including, but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Positive Psychology, and EFT Tapping. I am a strengths-based and client-centered therapist that believes my role as a therapist is to provide unwavering support for my clients. I am experienced in working with clients who present with mood disorders, depression, panic and anxiety, neurodiversity, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, and other mental health issues. I have 5+ years of experience working with diverse populations which includes Teens 13+, Young Adults, and Active-Duty Military Personnel. I am also a credentialed Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and Qualified RCSWI Supervisor.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and I believe everyone deserves a place where they feel safe, heard, and supported. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, I am passionate about helping adults navigate addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life's many challenges and transitions. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where we can work together to build hope, healing, and lasting change. I have a special passion for working with adults in recovery, military members, veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals living with both mental health and substance use concerns. Whether you're facing a recent life change, feeling stuck, or have been carrying emotional pain for years, you don't have to face it alone. Together, we'll identify your strengths, explore what's getting in the way, and develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence. My approach to counseling is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and relapse prevention strategies. I believe therapy is most effective when it combines compassion with practical skills that you can apply in your everyday life. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in intensive outpatient treatment, substance use recovery, and clinical leadership. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the resilience of the people I serve and reinforced my belief that meaningful change is possible, even during life's most difficult moments. Clients often describe me as approachable, compassionate, genuine, and easy to talk to. I believe healing begins with a trusting relationship, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside my clients as they rediscover their strengths, overcome challenges, and create lives that feel healthier, more balanced, and more fulfilling.
