Are you a teen or adult who needs assistance navigating the twists and turns in life? I offer a supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and work toward established goals. I am passionate about helping others navigate mental health challenges and find hope in recovery. My commitment to this work is informed not only by my professional training but also by my own lived experience with mental health symptoms and recovery from addiction. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to seek help and make lasting changes. I strive to provide a nonjudgmental space where you can work toward healing, growth, and resilience. We will work collaboratively to develop coping skills and strategies to help combat unwanted symptoms, while building resilience and fostering personal growth. I graduated with a Master of Education in Counseling & Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College in 2012. I have been working in mental health for 15+ years and have been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia since 2017. Most of my experience has been in crisis settings, assisting people during their most vulnerable times. I hope you’ll trust me to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges and discover your path to healing.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting relationship. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, personal history, and the goals you’d like to work toward. I’ll also answer any questions you may have about the counseling process. There is no pressure to share everything at once – therapy moves at your pace.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is a deep sense of understanding and a nonjudgmental approach. I believe everyone has a unique story, and I strive to create a safe space where you can speak openly without fear of criticism or shame. Whether you’re facing mental health challenges, relationship struggles, addiction, or life transitions, you’ll be met with compassion and respect.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to explore change and take active steps toward their goals, even if they're not yet sure how to get there. You don't need to have everything figured out, but a willingness to examine patterns and try new approaches can help us make meaningful progress together. I believe that every person deserves a safe, supportive space to be heard and understood. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and walks of life, but have an especially strong commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ clients in a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental environment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is utilized to explore the intersection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In CBT, the focus is on testing whether your thoughts are accurate and useful, then taking actions that improve your situation.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a conversational method to help people strengthen their own motivation for change. Instead of persuading, arguing, or giving a lot of advice, motivational interviewing helps people explore their ambivalence and find their own reasons for taking action.
