New to Grow
We are all unique, and so is what we need. My therapeutic approach is holistic mixed with a cognitive-humanistic style designed with the client as the center. I do not tell you what is best for you or what direction you should be going in, instead I help you determine what you want, where you want to be, and how you will get there. Then I support you on that journey by providing the encouragement, support, information, and realness needed to stay focused and succeed.
My style is real and upfront, but not mean or insensitive, so that you get what you need without the fake fluff. During our first session we will get to know each other to make sure we are a good fit. Then we will start woking on getting you on the path you seek by establishing communication norms and goals.
As the song says, we all need somebody to lean on. We often think that needing or asking for assistance, help, is a sign of weakness; in truth it is a sign of great strength. No matter your view, I am not here to judge you, I am here to help you; help you determine what you need, help you figure out how to turn negatives into positives, and help you become the you, you want to be. I use a comprehensive technique developed using holistic, cognitive, and humanistic therapies. Clear mind, healthy body, strong spirit; the three work in unison, when one is unsettled the others are strained. My goal is to help you find a way to harmonize in your own unique way. I have dedicated my life to understanding human behavior and learning inventive ways to help each unique person find their unique answer. I am certified in EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have training in trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, grief therapy, mindfulness, humanistic therapy, and cognitive processing therapy (CPT).
Change is inevitable, when met with a closed mind it is difficult to see, but when met with an open mind it can be channeled positively and used to your advantage. If you are willing to put in the work, I am willing to provide the space and opportunity. I have 117 years of experience in the field of counseling and therapy. I have experience working with those who want to make life changes, Veterans and their families, substance use and recovery, and life coaching, I can help with work life balance, PTSD, depression, anxiety, phobias, emotional wellness, and grief.
