Hi, My name is Kristel. I am an LCSW who provides talk therapy via Telehealth. I am a multifaceted individual with diverse life experiences that inform my perspective. As a former military brat and spouse, I've intimately understood the complexities of life's transitions. My journey has taken me from being a young wife to mature single and dating, stay-at-home mom to working mom, anxious new parent to accepting mother of teens, rule follower to empowered, scarcity mindset to abundance mindset, employee to entrepreneur, stuck to the growth mindset, financially insecure to thriving, trauma victim to survivor, neuro-ambiguous to neurodivergent, granting me a unique appreciation for all the roles I have experienced in my life. I'm a devoted mother of two children, and my path has been marked by significant challenges, including the struggle with infertility and profound grief. I proudly identify as a feminist and supporter of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ community. These aspects of my identity deeply influence my approach to life and work. With a background in working with families, individuals, and children, I bring a wealth of experience. My personal journey has shaped my empathetic, compassionate, and inclusive perspective, which I offer as a source of support and understanding to those I work with.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to know what to do or expect during the first session! That’s what I am here for. During the first session we'll discuss expectations and therapeutic processes, such as scheduling, communication, and therapeutic alliance (or therapeutic relationship). We will discuss the use of Medical Grade/HIPAA compliant session transcription to support your therapeutic process by allowing me to keep my focus on you during the session, provide well written notes to you insurance company to reduce difficulties with reimbursing for your care and the best part- to provide after session summaries, resources, and plan uniquely tailored to your therapeutic journey. Then we will dive into how therapy can best support you and increase your resilience by setting collaborative goals and getting to understand what is going on in your life. We will use the assessments you completed prior to the first session, as well as your intake form to guide us through the session and better understand what you may be struggling with. We can also discuss the therapeutic fit to make sure we are compatible. We will discuss your goals and how we get you in and out of therapy with the best results. Again, I look forward to meeting you. You have plenty of other things to worry about, so don’t let therapy be one of those things, I will be there with you all the way!

We humans share many experiences: inequality, infertility, infidelity, job loss, loneliness, discrimination, breakups, poor performance, invalidation, fear, abuse, trauma, impossible expectations, bonkers family, regrettable actions, crazy ex’s, cringy relationships, poor decisions, sadness, being broke, & exhausting parenting. I believe in meeting clients where they are and tailoring my approach to their unique needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all methodology. My goal is to support and empower clients for as long as they need, but ultimately, I want to work myself out of the job by helping them recover and move on. To achieve this, I utilize an eclectic treatment method, drawing from a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strength-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. This eclectic approach allows me to tailor my interventions to the unique needs and goals of each client, providing them with the most effective and personalized support on their journey towards healing and personal growth.

Kristel was warm, thoughtful, and felt easy to talk to. She asked thought provoking questions that really resonated with some of the things I am feeling and left me hopeful about our therapy journey. I am looking forward to more sessions with her!

Kristel was really wonderful during our first session. I appreciated that she was open-minded and understanding. I can tell she truly wants to help and hear everything you have to say. I look forward to working with her more in the future. She is an active listener and will provide good feedback. It is easy talking to her about sensitive topics. Overall, I highly recommend Kristel!
