Hello,
I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that).
At this point, I changed professions and out of a desire to work with veterans, I returned to school, accomplishing all that was necessary to become a licensed counselor. I spent another career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically as a counselor in the Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center). I recently retired from the Vet Center and now I work part-time here with Grow Therapy.
As a retired Marine senior staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) and disabled combat veteran myself, the Vet Center was the perfect job. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to combat veterans and provide counseling to survivors of military sexual trauma (MST). Vet Centers also provide group counseling, bereavement counseling and couples counseling when this is determined to be of support to the veteran.
Readjustment counseling many times consists of treating/addressing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), I.e., anxiety, depression, exaggerated startle response, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, etc. Many veterans go on to work as first responders and working with many first responders as well as medical personal, has provided me with a great deal of additional experience.

Together, we’ll work to reframe unhelpful thought patterns, process past experiences, and build practical tools to help you feel more confident, balanced, and in control.
Do you feel like you've lost your way, your purpose and identity,
or just need to get back on track? Hello! My name is Erie, and I'd love to help you.
Social workers typically have an interesting life story and personal experiences with tragedy that tug at our heartstrings. I am no different. At times, I wonder "how is it that I have survived these mountains and valleys?" Despite personal tragedy, loss, and despair, influential people have served as beacons of hope throughout the years in my life.
Along with my re-creation of self through school, internships, and certifications, I have learned one basic human tenant that would be my guiding light through the most challenging of times: people need people. I realize that this sounds a bit rudimentary, but this is the cornerstone of social work and the secret to my success in beating the statistical odds that accompany a survivor of childhood abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism, military combat trauma, and the loss of a child.
So, the question stands: why am I here and what do I want? I simply want to pay it forward as many have done for me. I would have never expected to be where I am or doing what I'm doing. I personally believe that there is hope and light in the most desperate, dark places and recesses of the human soul. For that reason, I bet on the underdog, society's undeserving, and those with whom all other plans have failed.
I find that my reward and inner satisfaction comes with doing for others when all else has failed and all others have given up. For this reason, I will keep doing for others, because they are worth it.
As a social worker for twenty years, I have seen both the incredible hardships that people face as well as human resilience and adaptability. I became a therapist because I believe that healing happens best when we feel seen, heard, and accepted—just as we are. In therapy sessions, I use humor, warmth, and genuine respect to create a safe and supportive space for that purpose.

Hi, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving clients virtually throughout Texas and Florida.
I specialize in working with adults, high-achievers, and "the strong ones"—the fixers, leaders, and eldest siblings who are used to taking care of everyone else but are secretly running on empty.
My primary treatment areas include:
Anxiety & Overthinking: Helping you quiet the racing thoughts and find relief from that constant, "on-edge" feeling.
Burnout Recovery: Providing practical tools for professionals and caretakers who are emotionally exhausted and operating on fumes.
Life Transitions: Navigating the disorienting, messy middle of major life, career, or relationship changes.
In our sessions, you don’t need a script; just show up as you are. My style is a collaborative, faith-friendly conversation where we meet your real-world struggles with down-to-earth grace.
Together, we will turn your stress and constant overthinking into practical, manageable tools you can use the moment our session ends. You don't have to carry this heavy load alone anymore—let's work through it together.
I believe that compassion and self-love are powerful tools that allow us to overcome life’s challenges and mental health struggles. By fostering a nonjudgmental and understanding environment, we can acknowledge that perfection is not the goal—growth is. Each person is unique, processing experiences in their own way and at their own pace. Through patience, collaboration, and consistency, we can achieve meaningful goals and build resilience together. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my purpose is to help others just as I was once helped. My personal journey—marked by life experiences, challenges, and both right and wrong choices—has guided me toward the most rewarding profession: supporting others in their healing.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you on your healing journey and to help you discover your strength, resilience, and potential for growth.

Hello, I’m Dennis Alvarez, PsyD.
I believe counseling should both encourage and thoughtfully challenge individuals to move toward their fullest potential by addressing the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of their lives. I hold a Doctorate in Psychology and a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a licensed psychotherapist with experience across hospital, treatment, and private-practice settings.
Throughout my career, I have provided individual and group therapy as well as comprehensive psychological assessments to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relational distress, substance-use concerns, and life-transition stressors. My clinical background includes work in hospitals, substance-use treatment programs, and outpatient private practice, where I integrate evidence-based approaches within a holistic, person-centered framework.
I am also the author of When Heaven Was Silent: Integrating Psychology and Theology in the Garden of Gethsemane, which explores the experience of mental suffering through both clinical and historical perspectives. My doctoral dissertation focused on trauma and psychological adaptation, further shaping my approach to helping individuals understand their internal patterns, build resilience, and restore a sense of meaning and purpose.
In my work with clients, I emphasize helping people understand how and why certain thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns develop, particularly in the context of anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance-use histories. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment while also encouraging insight, personal responsibility, and growth. My goal is to help you move toward a more grounded, authentic, and meaningful life.

I am an optimist that has worked in the mental health and substance use space since 2007 as both a clinician and music therapist. Most battles are won and lost before they are ever fought because our thoughts drive our feelings and affect our behaviors. The challenge becomes mastering our thought process. Figuring out "who" we are is more useful than "why" we are so important in our journey to overcoming challenges, being resilient and becoming who we want to be. I thoroughly enjoy exploring and cultivating holistic coping strategies and firmly believe everything is better with music and chocolate.

Hey there! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Dr. G, and I'm a licensed mental health professional.
I wonder if you're going through a tough time right now. I know how hard things can be sometimes. Just remember that you have inherent worth and beauty as a human being. Even when life gets rocky, you deserve to feel fulfilled and lead a life you enjoy.
If you ever need someone to talk to without judgment, I'm here to listen. I care about your well-being. We all need a little support sometimes. So don't be afraid to open up if you need to! I'm rooting for you, and I believe in your ability to get through this. You've got this!
My name is Vincent Egbuchulam, and I am a licensed professional counselor with over five years of experience in the mental health field. I address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, teen issues, anger and stress management, life transitions, aggression, and ADHD. In addition, I am a retired board-certified Special Education teacher with 15 years of experience.
My counseling approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). CBT involves helping clients learn and practice new skills, develop healthier thinking patterns, and adopt more effective coping strategies. I may assign homework to reinforce the skills we work on during sessions, as I believe that applying these techniques in your daily life enhances their effectiveness. SFBT operates on the principle that individuals are competent and capable of finding solutions to improve their lives. In our sessions, you will have the opportunity to describe your challenges, set personal goals, and provide feedback. Occasionally, I may incorporate other techniques, such as role-playing, if they are beneficial for your progress.
I am committed to supporting those who seek to enhance their emotional well-being. During our initial visit, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and outline what you hope to achieve from our sessions. The first session typically lasts about an hour. You can expect a highly professional, objective, nonjudgmental, and confidential experience.

Hi there, my name is Katie Barton. My belief about the therapeutic relationship is this is one built one mutual trust, understanding and respect. My goals include working together to tell your story and develop creative thought and behavioral based solutions to overcome obstacles and develop more balance.
Everyone has a story but sometimes cannot find an outlet to tell it. Do you feel stuck in your head unable to use your voice? Do you feel like patterns keep presenting and you cannot break free? Sometimes this story has deep and dark moments or complex traumas affecting the course of an individual's life. If you have moments in your story triggering PTSD, anxiety or depression, I would love to assist you through this and help change the areas no longer deserving of so much power in your life. I enjoy helping individuals work past areas in their mind causing them to feel stuck and disempowered. My approach is evidence-based and trauma-informed, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), DBT, and somatic strategies such as grounding and breathwork to help clients regulate emotions and process difficult experiences.
