Strengths
My counseling motto is: Everyday in Everyway I commit to improving my life.
Ideal clients
Individuals navigating through life circumstances, career transitions, grief, self-esteem, confidence, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, divorce, stronger mindset, loneliness, hopelessness, and over all well being. Through cognitive behavior therapy techniques, clients will be challenged to look inwards to reflect, analyze, evaluate, and consider our own perceptions of the world around us, to help us react in more positive and meaningful ways.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps us understand the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by challenging negative thought patterns and changing how we react to situations in life.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Psychoeducation, which teaches the victim about the normal reactions to traumatic experiences. This can help them reduce feelings of guilt or culpability for what happened. Coping skills, including relaxation exercises like deep breathing, mindfulness, acceptance, identifying and redirecting thoughts, and other methods. Gradual exposure, which involves gradually introducing the patient to memories of their traumatic experience, with the goal of reconditioning their response to triggers and easing emotional distress. Cognitive processing, which can include developing skills to recontextualize unhelpful feelings and thoughts, and regulate emotions. Caregiver involvement, which may include rebuilding trusting adult relationships for the child and training the caregiver in how to best be a resource for the child.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation provides patients, families, and groups with information, resources, and skills relating to a specific mental health diagnosis or condition. Psychoeducation can be provided at the individual, family, or group level and is essential in treatment and advocacy.
Positive Psychology
Positive psychology helps to foster happiness and emotional wellness. It does this by helping people capitalize on their strengths, heighten their gratitude and awareness, connect to others, and develop the wisdom needed to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach to improving mental health through present-moment awareness and nonjudgmental acceptance. It offers tools to better understand one’s thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. By encouraging greater mental clarity and emotional regulation, this therapy supports psychological resilience and promotes long-term well-being.
