My sense of humor and relaxed, informal manner can help you feel safe and comfortable. I like to incorporate meditation, mindfulness, and positive visualization. With young to middle adults, we may address personal and career goals, job stress, and relationships, with older adults, transitioning from the workforce to retirement and managing grief and loss. Hello. I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Ohio. I received my Masters from the University of Toledo and have been practicing for 14 years. I find that having clarity is vital to making changes in our lives. Why we do the things we do, often not even being aware of why we do them. Gaining insight into how our thoughts are impacting our behaviors is crucial to change. Changing the way we interact with others can greatly impact our daily functioning, reduce our stress, and improve our relationships with the people in our lives. Making these changes increases the potential for a more joyful life.

With over five years of experience as a social worker, I’ve had the privilege of supporting youth and adults through moments of growth, transition, and healing. Additionally, I worked in residential programs, juvenile justice settings, and shelters for unhoused youth, experiences that shaped my deep respect for people’s strength, stories, and capacity to heal.
My therapeutic style is compassionate and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported, whether you're navigating anxiety, life transitions, past trauma or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to walk alongside you with care and curiosity.

I have 10 years of experience as an Ohio clinical counselor: working with all ages, diverse backgrounds, and various therapeutic settings. I work from a trauma informed, but laid back, and non-judgmental lense to meet you where you are and look at your symptoms as a holistic picture. I believe in a mind, body, spirit connection and empower clients to build a more balanced lifestyle.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I strive to create an environment where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and understood. You can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. After all, we're only human.
I enjoy helping people make sense of their experiences by combining compassion with practical tools and meaningful insight. I'm naturally curious and creative in my thinking, and I often incorporate psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences. While I take my clients and their struggles seriously, I also believe there is room for humor and lightness in the healing process when the moment calls for it.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you recognize your strengths, build confidence in yourself, and rediscover hope.
My passion in the mental health field is to encourage children and teens to become life-long advocates for their emotional, mental, and physical well-being. It is my hope that together, we will find useful strategies that can be built upon and continue to grow during both the ups and downs of adolescence and beyond. My clients often present with moderate to severe worries and anxiety around “typical” angst related to school, activities, and relationships. Sometimes the stress is sneaky and camouflaged to look like fatigue, irritability, and apathy. I find that many young people use coping skills that may not be the healthiest; however making the initial decision to seek out better solutions through counseling provides countless options for therapeutic approaches.
In 2025, I proudly founded my own practice, Grand Wellness Group, in an effort to continue to provide the best support for clients, families, and supervision for clinical mental health providers.

I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, valued, and empowered. Life presents us with obstacles, but no one should have to navigate those storms alone.

I have a heart for working with kids and teens with traumatic experiences. My passion began while I was still in high school and wanted to be a teacher. I worked in various daycare facilities as well as having my own in-home daycare and decided I wanted to help kids (and adults) in a more in-depth manner. That is when I began my journey into social work and found my true calling in life.
I have experience working with children and adolescents who have been through, or are currently in, the child welfare system as well as working with older teens with substance abuse/misuse issues.
Shawn is a Master's level Clinical Mental Health Therapist/Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a passion to help individuals live their best lives. You and I will work together to identify challenges, maladaptive thoughts & behaviors, and mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression. We will collaborate to develop a plan to improve symptoms and overcome the barriers that keep you from living life to the fullest!
Do you feel like you're running at full capacity with no room left to breathe? On the surface, you have it all together: the high-performing professional, the dependable parent, the supportive partner. Underneath, it's different. Anxiety that won't quiet. Depression creeping in. Burnout from roles that never let you clock out. Often it's all of them at once, tangled together until they blur.
I bring an engineer's mindset to therapy. My background in Mechanical Engineering shaped how I see problems, not as isolated issues but as complex systems needing recalibration. Most high-achievers I work with are tired of surface-level talk therapy; they want results. Together, we analyze what's actually breaking down, whether it's depression, anxiety, career burnout, or family dynamics. We build a concrete evidence-based plan using tools such as DBT and EMDR to process trauma and tackle performance issues. For over a decade, I've guided clients through major life transitions, for example career pivots, new parenthood, and loss, toward lives rooted in purpose and sustainable well-being.
I joined the Mandel School of Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in 1993, after living the University of Iowa. I retired May 2026 as the Grace F. I have been an educator since 1987 and have practiced with families, mostly office based starting in 1988, then home based, and with the new technologies I have been working virtually.

I have owned and operated Adoption Partners LLC over 20 years, working with families who are thinking about adoption to post adoption support and case management. I participate in searching records to help adopted people or siblings of adopted people to make connections/gather family history. Wherever you are in your adoption journey, I am here to help.
My experience has been helpful to blended families who are struggling. There are often parallels to the adoptive parents and step-parent experience.

I have experience providing in-home, out-patient and school counseling with additional experience in various social services settings supporting children and families with reunification and adoption. I am a licensed clinical social worker, advocate, mother, runner, and yoga enthusiast. I believe that everyone would benefit from talk therapy because life is challenging, complicated, and busy. I fully understand that getting ourselves to therapy is, at times, not easy and sincerely appreciate every client that intentionally decides that they are ready to grow, heal, and evolve. I believe in the power of becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable so as to push ourselves to step outside of our comfort zones.
I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Youngstown State University and began my career working in foster care as a case manager, where I developed a strong foundation in advocacy, family systems, and trauma-informed care. I later expanded my clinical work as a mental health therapist in a school setting and within a collaborative program serving children involved in foster care, supporting clients through complex emotional and environmental challenges.
I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). My clinical experience includes counseling children, adolescents, adults, and couples experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, low self-esteem, anger management concerns, and relationship challenges.
In my practice, I utilize trauma-informed CBT, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based approaches, and motivational interviewing to support meaningful and lasting change. I believe healing occurs in a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment, where clients feel empowered, respected, and actively involved in their mental health journey.

I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor who started her degree at the University of South Florida. I’ve worked from treatment assistant to supervisor.
I have worked with those suffering with substance use disorders, trauma and panic disorders and even parents of children with special needs. My goal is to help people learn real time tools to help manage intense emotions and overcome pervasive patterns that prevent healthy relationships. Since I have worked in the social services for over 20 years, I have a wealth of knowledge.
Asking for help is a first step toward a better understanding and improved functioning.
The one question I get most often by clients and peers is: Why did you go into the counseling profession? My response is always the same. First, I have always had a desire to help people in a time of need or distress. I have felt this way as far back as high school. Secondly, I went through a debilitating anxiety disorder in my mid-twenties. I know first-hand the helplessness and desperation mental and emotional pain causes. I never condone a therapist sharing with a client, they know how the client feels unless they themselves have experienced a similar type of pain. Lastly, I believe in the power of counseling and the benefits it can offer. Counseling is very different from medicine. Counseling requires the client to be actively involved in the process of healing and growth rather than taking medication and waiting for it to work. Counseling empowers a client to by allowing them to see their progress towards the life they desire on a daily, weekly, and even monthly basis.
