LISW, 11 years of experience
Thinking about making a change? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to go through it alone. While change can be difficult, therapy provides a safe space to express yourself, consider new perspectives, and move toward personal growth. I’m Ken with Integrous Counseling. I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 10 years of experience in behavioral health. I specialize in helping individuals work through life stressors, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, gambling, and addictive behaviors. My approach is compassionate, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, ACT, CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based interventions. I’m here to support you with achieving your goals.
Each session begins with a warm and welcoming check-in. Together, we’ll take time to identify and process your current needs, explore meaningful options, set intentional goals, and practice useful skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to make commitments for continued growth between sessions. Along the way, we’ll celebrate your successes and navigate challenges together—staying focused on the progress that matters most to you.
I believe therapy is a partnership built on trust. I bring empathy, curiosity, and open-mindedness into every session. In addition to counseling, I’ve led and supervised treatment programs for mental health, substance use, and problem gambling, giving me a broad understanding of both individual care and system-level change.
Whether you’re facing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or addictive behaviors, you don’t have to go through it alone—I’m here to help. I offer weekday evening telehealth sessions for your convenience. In addition to accepting insurance, I may offer sliding scale cash rates that range from $70–$140 per session, based on need, session length, and our mutually agreed upon treatment plan.
ACT helps us notice and accept difficult thoughts and emotions without letting them control us. Together, we’ll focus on identifying your core values and building the psychological flexibility to pursue a meaningful, fulfilling life—even in the face of challenges.
We’ll work together to learn and practice cognitive behavioral skills that increase your awareness of how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another—empowering you to make positive changes. CBT is a proven, effective approach for many concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, insomnia, nightmares, and other sleep difficulties.
Mindfulness helps you tune into the present moment with greater awareness and intention. These practices can reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and support your overall well-being by encouraging curiosity, non-judgment, and self-compassion.
MI is a collaborative, person-centered approach that strengthens your motivation for change. Through empathetic conversation, we’ll explore your reasons for change, resolve ambivalence, and stay connected to your goals and values.
Whether you’ve experienced recent or past trauma, we’ll work at your pace in a safe and supportive environment. I use trauma-informed approaches to understand how trauma impacts daily life, and when appropriate, I offer evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), EMDR, and Written Exposure Therapy (WET) to support healing.
