New to Grow
My name is Beth Brown! I am a licensed independent social worker living near Dayton, OH. I enjoy being outdoors, doing arts and crafts, and baking yummy treats. I have experience working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life change, grief, and who may be dealing with some spiritual concerns or deconstruction. I want to be able to partner alongside you to help you identify and then reach your goals! I am here to support you.
First sessions can certainly be nerve-wracking! During an intake session, I will introduce myself and spend most of the time getting to know you. I want to hear about your life, why you are interested in starting therapy, and what you want your life to look like as a result of being in therapy. We will work together to build a safe space for you and to identify some goals to work towards.
I believe strongly in evidence-based practice and in being client-centered. You are the expert in your life, I am just joining alongside you to provide some additional support and some clinical information as needed.
I enjoy working with adults who are open to exploring their mental health, lifestyle, values, and who will collaborate on setting goals and working toward achieving them. I have several years experience working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, major life change, life transition, those with children that have behavioral health needs, and people who are dealing with issues of faith or spirituality. I have done work with many people who are in the process of exploring church hurt/spiritual trauma or who are deconstructing. I want to work alongside you to support you in the goals that you have for yourself! Even if you aren't quite sure what those goals are yet, we can figure it out!
Christian Counseling
I have experience providing faith-based services, whether you are still in the faith/evangelical environments or if you are deconstructing/healing from faith-related trauma. I use this to help gain a better understanding of a client's background if they are wanting to address issues relating to faith or to use methods that are informed by their faith.
