Hi. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio. I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults who have had issues with trauma and loss in childhood. I also have much experience in working with depression, anxiety and loss. I have a special interest in working with anyone touched by adoption as I am an adoptee myself. It is very gratifying to see people of all ages overcome obstacles and to become the best version of themselves. I feel that one of my strengths is being able to put people at ease and being able to support them through the therapeutic process. Please understand that I do not do medication management.
If you’re a veteran, a man struggling in a difficult relationship, or an adult who is tired of feeling stuck, you’re not looking for someone to simply listen and nod. You want things to change.
I work especially well with people dealing with anxiety, anger, trauma, depression, relationship problems, low confidence, overthinking, addiction, or major life stress. My approach is practical and straightforward: we look at the thoughts, beliefs, habits, and circumstances keeping you stuck and start challenging them.
I also work with men who feel overwhelmed, unheard, criticized, or uncertain of themselves in important relationships. Maybe you feel like you’re walking on eggshells, questioning yourself, feeling guilty for setting boundaries, or wondering whether you’re the problem. Counseling can help you rebuild confidence, establish healthier boundaries, and make decisions based on your own values rather than fear, guilt, or pressure.
I’ve worked with thousands of clients and learned that people often have more strength than they realize. Sometimes you’ve believed lies about yourself for so long that they became part of who you see yourself to be.
I’m Christian-friendly, but I meet everyone where they are.
I listen closely, ask questions that make you think, challenge perspectives that may be keeping you stuck, and help you find solutions that work in real life. I don’t believe my job is to tell you how to live your life. I want our conversations to help you see your situation more clearly and decide what makes sense for you.
I’m also a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. I’ll gladly work with Michigan fans, too…but I can't promise neutrality! :)

Every person is different, and you will have your own individualized therapy and plan that is tailored to your needs. I really enjoy helping others explore their own strengths, and I understand that sometimes it can be hard to put things into perspective. Sometimes that outside, non-judgmental assistance is what someone needs to get back on track or on a better track.
I am an adult adoptee with 20 years of experience working in the adoption space. I train prospective adoptive parents, and train mental health professionals in adoption competence. I am a parent, and a cat mom who loves to read and enjoys live theater. Would you like to understand yourself better so that you can feel better and get more of what you want in life? All of this works together for good self esteem, good energy, and a good life.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and how we might work together. Hoping to meet you soon!

I became a therapist because therapy changed my life. Experiencing mental illness caused struggle and emotional suffering, but lead me to seek help. The support I found brought solace and healing, and eventually opened doors that led to becoming a therapist. It is such a meaningful experience to reach those who are now where I once was. Over the years I had opportunities to work in many settings, including medical and mental health hospitals, intensive outpatient, and residential addiction treatment centers, and now private practice.
As a therapist, my approach is open, non-judgmental, and collaborative. My goal is to create an empowering environment because ultimately, you are the expert in your own life.
