New to Grow
Hello, I am Chrissy Dingledine. I was born and raised in Ohio and in the past few years I moved to North Carolina. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with my Master's in Social Work in 2012. I am currently independently licensed in Ohio and North Carolina. I have had a range of experience from providing crisis and solution focused treatment in a jail setting, providing holistic and solution focused treatment in a medical clinic, and providing care to adolescents in the school setting. Each setting has helped me grow as a provider and a person. One commonality from each experience is that we are all human and we all need support throughout our lives, and there is no shame in this. I am here to provide you with a safe space where you can speak openly and honestly. I want you to feel supported, seen and heard as you share personal details of your life. Together, we will work on finding ways to improve your well-being so you feel more confident in your lifestyle.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we will give introductions and review your rights to confidentiality and privacy. After the formalities are over we will begin to explore what has brought you to therapy and how we can begin to address the challenges you are facing.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is the understanding that not every person is in the same place in their journey to wellness. I have worked with adolescents and adults of various backgrounds and I want each person to feel heard, validated and safe as we begin to work together.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with individuals who may be hesitant about the process of therapy- whether they have tried therapy before and did not feel connected to their therapist, have been in therapy before and felt success, or are trying therapy for their first time. Together we will determine what symptoms are causing obstacles in your life and together we will start finding solutions to address your personal goals.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I understand that each person's mental health needs are unique. Addressing each person's current situation with family, work, socially, physically and mentally, helps provide the person with better all around care. There are so many things that can impact us each day and we need to focus on you and the steps we can take to improve your current symptoms.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As we all know, we are always listening to our own thoughts, whether they are positive or negative. I strongly believe in the impact that our thoughts can have in our emotions and our reactions. Addressing these thoughts and finding alternative ways to manage them is part of the essence of growth in each individual.
