New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with more than a decade of experience helping adults manage anxiety, ADHD, trauma, addiction, anger, relationship stress, and major life transitions. I have worked extensively with first responders, military veterans, professionals, and individuals navigating high-pressure environments. I specialize in men’s mental health and provide practical, goal-oriented therapy focused on meaningful progress and lasting change.
During our first session, we will discuss what brought you to therapy, the concerns affecting your life, and what you hope to accomplish. I will ask questions about your current symptoms, relationships, stressors, background, and previous experiences with counseling. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and determine whether my approach feels like a good fit. My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your difficulties and an initial plan for moving forward. You do not need to have everything figured out before we meet. We will work together to identify realistic goals and determine the most useful place to begin.
My approach is practical, direct, and collaborative. I listen carefully and provide a supportive environment, but I will not simply sit back and agree with everything you say. I ask difficult questions, identify patterns, and respectfully challenge thoughts or behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. My clinical experience with addiction, trauma, ADHD, anger, and high-stress professions allows me to remain calm and focused when clients bring complicated or uncomfortable concerns into therapy. I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I also understand that many clients, particularly men, want therapy to produce more than insight. They want concrete tools, honest feedback, and a clear direction for change.
My ideal client is an adult who feels overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated by patterns involving anxiety, ADHD, anger, addiction, relationship conflict, trauma, or chronic stress. They may be a professional, first responder, veteran, husband, or father who is used to handling problems independently but recognizes that their current approach is no longer working. They do not need to have everything figured out, but they should be willing to be honest, examine difficult patterns, and practice new skills between sessions. My ideal client wants practical tools, direct feedback, and measurable progress rather than therapy that remains purely conversational. Their goal is not simply to feel better temporarily, but to improve how they manage emotions, make decisions, communicate, and function in daily life.
Other specialties
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you identify the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we look for patterns that may be increasing anxiety, anger, stress, low mood, or impulsive decisions. You will learn practical ways to challenge unhelpful thinking, respond differently to difficult situations, and build healthier habits that can be used outside of therapy.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to help you work through uncertainty about making changes. Rather than telling you what you should do, I help you clarify what matters to you, identify what may be holding you back, and strengthen your own reasons for moving forward. This approach is especially helpful when addressing addiction, unhealthy habits, relationship concerns, or goals you have struggled to maintain.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use solution-focused therapy to help you identify what is already working and build practical steps toward the life you want. We focus on your strengths, available resources, and specific goals rather than spending every session reviewing the problem. This approach can help you make progress quickly by turning larger concerns into manageable actions and recognizing improvement as it occurs.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I use trauma-focused CBT to help you understand how past experiences may still affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and reactions today. We work at a pace that feels manageable while building coping skills, identifying trauma-related beliefs, and reducing patterns such as avoidance, guilt, shame, or feeling constantly on guard. The goal is to help you process what happened without allowing it to continue controlling your daily life.
