New to Grow
Hello, I'm Sandra Workman, MS, LPCC, NCC, CMHC. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, or mood disorders, that disrupt daily functioning, relationships, work, and financial stability. Using evidenced -based approaches including CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I help clients build practical skills, reduce stress, and create clear, achievable steps toward recovery. I can help you regain control.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The initial intake session is about 50-60 minutes to review your history, current concerns, complete intake paperwork and set goals. By the end you'll have a preliminary treatment plan and next steps for care.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I've worked in both Intensive Residential Treatment, Residential Dual Diagnosis Treatment programs with a focus on mental health and substance abuse. I have worked in community mental health and currently have a private practice with licenses in Colorado and Ohio. I use a varity of therapeutic approaches, methods, or results to best meet client needs.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I serve adults ages 20-75 who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or the effects of trauma. Together, we can work to restore stability and improve your quality of life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Evidence - Based is cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). This highly effective treatment method is backed by decades of scientific research. I often use CBT in my practice, it can deliver highly focused treatment in a short time and has benefits for how your thoughts affect your emotions and your personal experience. In therapy, I will help you push back the negative thoughts for the better.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
For the past decade, I have used an evidenced-based DBT approach to stablize intense emotions and improve functioning. DBT addresses self -harm and emotional instability through structured, multi component method that targets both behaviors and underlying skill deficits that drive them.
Attachment-based
with 10 years experience, I use an attachment-based approach that leverages the therapeutic relationship as a corrective experience to improve emotional regulation and relational functioning by assessing attachment patterns, fostering repair and attunement, and enhancing mentalization.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to teach diagnoses, emotion-regulation principles, and treatment skills- normalizing clients' experiences, increasing insight, and supporting skills practice with brief lessons, handouts, and HW to boost engagement and measurable progress.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
With 10 years experience, I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to amplify client strengths, set small actionable goals, and track progress with scaling and HW to produce rapid, measurable change.
