Hi, I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio. I've been providing outpatient therapy to clients all over Ohio for the past 12 years. I love meeting with people and finding out their personal goals and challenges and then creating a therapeutic approach that is unique to the individual and their needs. Creating a strong alliance with each and every client I see helps me to achieve this. This is what makes therapy successful! While my work is grounded in clinical, evidence-based approaches, I also believe that healing is a deeply personal journey and that many people experience their healing through a spiritual lens. For clients who are open to it, therapy can include exploration of spirituality, meaning, purpose, intuition, personal beliefs, and our relationship with something greater than ourselves. These conversations are never about imposing a particular religion or worldview. They are about making room for the parts of your experience that matter to you. I see therapy as an opportunity not only to reduce distress, but to better understand yourself, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and create a life that feels authentic and meaningful. We may explore the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, nervous system, body, relationships, values, and spiritual life as interconnected pieces of your overall wellbeing. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or simply a sense that something in your life no longer feels aligned, therapy can become a space for both healing and transformation
It's normal for someone to feel nervous meeting a new counselor for the first time. I like to make a client comfortable right away and let them know what counseling sessions with me will be like. I ask a series of questions to get to know you and to understand what it is that you would like to gain from going to therapy.
Depending on your needs, we may draw from cognitive and behavioral approaches, mindfulness, somatic awareness, trauma-informed interventions, nervous-system regulation, and deeper exploration of the patterns and beliefs that shape how you experience yourself and the world. I also believe there is room in therapy for the deeper questions of being human. For clients who are open to it, we can explore spirituality, meaning, purpose, intuition, personal beliefs, and our relationship with something greater than ourselves. I will never impose a particular worldview on you. Instead, I create space for you to explore what gives your life meaning and what helps you feel connected to yourself and the world around you. My goal is not simply to help you function better. It is to help you understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your body and inner wisdom, develop a greater sense of safety within yourself, and move toward a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and aligned.
Most of my experience is in working with women of all ages, working through major life transitions and addressing mental health struggles. I also have experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

My session with Melissa Myers was great. She was open minded and warm. Showed obvious passion for her field and her clients. She took time to make sure I understood everything and to make a plan for future sessions. I am very much looking forward to many many sessions with this excellent therapist.
