Hi, I'm Jennifer. Do you sometimes feel stuck? Struggle with beliefs that maybe are getting in the way of you living your life to the fullest? Have you experienced a significant trauma? Are you struggling with daily life stressors? Are you looking for a therapist to help you develop boundaries? We can work together to develop strategies to improve balance in your life. Engaging in therapy can be an intimidating process. I help patients process trauma, changes in cognitive processing, as well as difficulties in daily relationships. A new diagnosis can be hard to process and can feel overwhelming. I work with patients to help identify strengths as well as opportunities for improvement. I use Cognitive Processing Therapy to address trauma, modifying as needed to meet individual needs. We'll utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, adjusting as needed to help you feel comfortable and build confidence in yourself. I'll meet you with compassion as well as evidence-based techniques so that you can build skills to help you through life's ups and downs. I appreciate your consideration. I look forward to working with you.

Your Well-Being Is in Good Hands! As a committed, professional Mental Health Service Provider of 5 years, your well-being and mental strength is my number one priority. I’m happy to guide you through all of life’s challenges with the attention and care you deserve. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including Anxiety, Relationship Issues, Parenting Problems, Career Challenges, Depression, Schizophrenia, Grief, Trauma, PTSD, Bipolar ADHD, and Personality Disorders. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I worked with various populations such as LGBTQ+,Homeless, Intellectually Disabilities, Prison's and Jail Systems. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Hi. I am a LPC in Georgia and a LCMHC in North Carolina. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I received my master's degree from VCU in 2015, became licensed in 2020, and have been practicing on my own ever since. I live by two mottos "It takes a village" and "take time for you". It is important to “take time for yourself,” because we need time to recharge, so that we can continue to persevere. However, there comes a time in everyone’s life where the support of the village is needed. That’s why I believe “it takes a village” and working together as a team is important. Whether it is a clinician and client duo, or a team of medical professionals, we can achieve reasonable and practical goals.

Hi, I'm Teshia. Despite your best efforts, do you find yourself on the verge of divorce? Your marriage may be a disaster, but your divorce doesn't have to be! As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly 20 years of experience as a family law paralegal, I possess a unique set of skills that are invaluable to those who find themselves in the throes of divorce. In addition to providing support through one of the most difficult life transitions, understanding that the legal process of divorce has the potential to inhibit the healing process and completely devastate families, I provide my clients with a better way to divorce...a way that builds up instead of tears down...a way that refashions your family instead of leaving it shattered. Since every ending brings a new beginning, my goal as your therapist is to guide you through the uncertainty of divorce, help you regain your balance and help you lay the foundation for a HEALTHY new beginning. No matter where you are in the divorce process, whether working as your therapist or as your divorce coach, I am dedicated to helping you regroup, recover and grow. Fully licensed and accepting new clients in NC, WI, and IA. Do you wish you could lessen the effects of emotional pain without having to relive it? Internal Family Sytems is an evidence-based, intrapsychic approach rooted in the multiplicity of mind, based in systems thinking, and a very psycho-spiritual (not religioous) approach. Using art & journal therapy, EFT & relaxation & meditation, we will work together to calm your mind and free parts of you that are frozen in time. I believe each of us have both a unique set of gifts and a world view shaped by past experiences and present circumstances. Let's get together and chat about how to quiet your mind and make your life more fulfilling. As an evidence-based relaxation and meditaiton trainer, I am uniquely qualified to help you learn to cope with grief, anxiety, past trauma, women's issues, and vicarious trauma experienced by veterans and first responders. My approach is eclectic, using interventions from a broad base of solidly-grounded, accepted theoretical orientations, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidence-based, brief modality for resolving PTSD symptoms. I see clcients for anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and women's issues. Through sessions together, I will collaborate with you to assist you in recognizing your individual strengths and strive to empower you with the self-awareness and self-confidence to pursue your dreams. i also practice Internal Family Systems, a means of healing PTSD without having to revisit the event. this is evidence based and rooted in both Attachment Theory and Family Systems Therapy. I take a person-centered, creative, non-judgmental approach to creating a safe space for counseling sessions, allowing you to unburden yourself and share your goals, while helping you to see how your uniquely shaded lenses of experience have color your perceptions.

Whether through meditation, words, or movement, I am ready to help you move you through “this” into the next phase of your life. Most of my social work career was in the case management area, so problem-solving treatment, motivational interviewing, setting and knocking down goals is a favorite approach of mine. Whatever the approach, we are in this together. “This” could be depression, anxiety, transitions, loss, life. Let me help guide you to find your strengths, embrace your innate resiliency, and reach your best you. I am a licensed therapist with over 7 years of experience specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), couples counseling, and Christian counseling. My passion is helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, emotional resilience, and purpose. In my work with individuals, I primarily use CBT to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact their mood and behavior. I believe in a practical, goal-oriented approach that equips clients with tools they can apply in everyday life, whether they're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions. My sessions are collaborative and supportive, creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. With couples, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and resolving conflict in ways that foster deeper connection. I draw from evidence-based methods like the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, tailoring the process to fit each couple’s unique dynamic. For those who desire a faith-based approach, I also offer Christian counseling. I integrate biblical principles, prayer, and spiritual reflection into the therapeutic process when appropriate. This allows for holistic healing that honors both emotional and spiritual needs, offering hope and a stronger sense of purpose. What sets my practice apart is my commitment to creating a warm, judgment-free environment where real change can take place. I see therapy as a partnership—one that honors your story, builds on your strengths, and supports you in becoming the person or couple you’re called to be. Whether you’re facing a specific struggle or simply seeking to grow, I’m here to walk with you through the process. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to go through it alone.

Hi, I'm Amy. Thank you for taking the first step to create change and work toward your goals. Do you feel out of balance and overwhelmed? I am passionate about supporting people to find balance and improve overall well-being. I believe well-being is not only about mental health but extends to physical, spiritual, and financial health since all life areas are weaved together. I believe every person has the ability and power to live their best life. To quote Rumi “The wound is the place where the light enters you” has been a guiding quote to find new abilities and opportunities. Self-improvement requires "doing the work" and reaching out for counseling is the first step in "doing the work". I have 16 years of experience working in community mental health, private practice and facilitating groups and 12 years licensed as a clinician. I earned a BS from North Carolina State University and an MA in Agency Counseling from North Carolina Central University. My career has focused on supporting people with substance use disorder and process addictions (gambling disorder), supporting active duty military and their families and working with people who have chronic pain and illness. When not working as a counselor, I take care of my terrific toddler. We enjoy swimming, reading, playground adventures and toddler-friendly activities.

My name is Janet Muta and I am a Licensed Clinician with over 15 years of experience in mental health, behavioral issues and relationships. I treat individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is treating the whole person because most of the time our problems are the outcome of more than just one thing and when I get to know you I am able to address different issues that could be contributing to that one specific problem. We all experience some difficulties in our lives sometimes and we all cope differently. What works for one person/couple who are experiencing a similar situation may not work for another and so I personalize your treatment to fit you. Being in therapy is like being on a journey, I make sure you are in the driver’s seat and I become your great working GPS, guiding you to your desired destination. I also hold a degree in finance which sometimes comes handy when helping those who are stressed due to financial needs. Among the treatment modalities I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Parenting, Contingency Management...

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by North Carolina rather than a city like Charlotte?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across North Carolina from Raleigh to Greensboro! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in North Carolina.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Military/Veterans?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Military/Veterans, is filtering therapists in North Carolina that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
