I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I support clients navigating depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, substance use, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the effects of trauma and emotional abuse. As the spouse of a retired disabled veteran, I have personal insight into the unique demands of military life and the long-term physical and emotional impacts military service can have on veterans and their families. My therapeutic style is warm, interactive, and straightforward. I integrate evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, rational-emotive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy–informed practices. My goal is to help clients build the insight, skills, and confidence needed to create meaningful change and greater independence.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be approximately one hour and will be focused on getting to know you. I will ask a number of questions to help me understand who you are, what has brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from our work together. To best support you, I may also ask for some personal background information, such as your health history and diagnoses, any medications you are taking, family history, relationship status, sexual orientation, and similar topics. You are always encouraged to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you. In return, I will provide a brief overview of my professional experience, and you are welcome to review my background on LinkedIn if you would like to learn more.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often describe my approach as calm, supportive, and grounded. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being open, asking questions, and exploring challenges without judgment. I work collaboratively with clients facing life transitions, emotional stress, relationship concerns, and mental health challenges, helping them build resilience, clarity, and confidence over time.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Whether you are navigating life transitions such as aging, health challenges, ongoing mental health concerns, relationship changes, or increased stress, experiencing panic attacks or family conflict, or seeking to build self-esteem and emotional resilience, I offer a respectful and supportive environment where healing and personal growth can flourish.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With cognitive behavioral therapy I will work with you on identifying the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Sometimes individuals can develop patterns of negative thinking that impacts their behavior, how they look at the world and their interactions with others. I work with clients on learning to recognize negative thinking, to challenge these thoughts and to replace negative thoughts with more positive or less negative thoughts.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In therapy, it is not always necessary to dive deep into the past or to explore the underlying issues of a problem. Solution focused therapy is about identifying the problem(s), setting goals and working on making positive change to help you move forward in the way that works best for you. This is accomplished in part by focusing on your strengths and enhancing your use of coping skills.
