What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will have brief introductions and an overview of confidentiality and HIPPA compliant communications before diving into the reasons for seeking therapy. Our first session is designed to gather information, get to know one another, and discuss your therapy goals. There will likely be uncomfortable topics and questions that you are free to decline. You are encouraged to ask questions and share any concerns.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I consider it a privilege to work with clients as they navigate their journey of healing and change. I am results oriented and bring compassion, experience, skill, warmth, and laughter while honoring the seriousness of your work and willingness to seek counseling.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

An eclectic approach to therapy means I draw on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques to tailor treatment to best address individual needs, expectations, and goals. In my 16+ years of experience, I have witnessed excellent results using this adaptable, multi-faceted approach. Some of the theoretical orientations I use include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy skills (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and metaphor/narrative therapy.

EMDR

I have been using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy since 2017 with appropriate clients. EMDR therapy is most known for treating post-traumatic stress disorder.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I received ERP training through the Cognitive Behavior Institute Center for Education. Exposure response prevention is the current gold stand standard for treating OCD.
