Good Day. I'm Karen. Learning how to cope with change can be difficult. Are there times where you feel as if friends and family misunderstand you? Do you find yourself struggling with change making it hard to adapt to new environments? If so, I am here to help!
I have worked in social services and mental health for over 10 years. As a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor for over 7 years, I have collaborated with agencies and organizations within New York City area to address the needs of individuals and families; including those who are struggling to heal from the impact of anxiety, depression and various addictions that can cause damage to the lives of both young people and adults alike.
When collaborating with an individual, I provide support no matter your socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other personal backgrounds. I am particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of transition, such as stress, loss, academic issues, employee issues, coping skills, marriage and family conflict; when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can emerge.
Beginning therapy is a deeply personal decision and often comes with a mix of curiosity, hope, and understandable hesitation. As a seasoned professional specializing in trauma-informed care, I recognize the profound impact that life experiences can have on someone’s over well-being. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based clinical modalities with a deep respect for each individual’s unique journey. I approach each client with the understanding that no two stories are the same and that therapy must be tailored to honor the individuality of your experiences.
Hello, I’m Cruz Rodriguez a License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am a master’s level licensed clinical mental health counselor (LMHC), (LPC) and credentialed SUD Counselor (CASAC-A) (CADC II) with training and expertise in both Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as psychodynamic treatment. I work with young adults and adults and have expertise in treating patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, compulsive, addictive behaviors and domestic violence. I have specialized training in various evidence-based treatments for trauma such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I hope to help patients learn effective ways to cope with stress, manage difficult emotions and communicate well with others.
We have all acquired ways of coping that get in the way of our development, and manifest as emotional pain, such as anxiety and depression. I work with clients to identify and reduce these painful symptoms. Clients are then freer to use their energy in pursuit of their goals. I work with young, midlife, and older adults. I develop a safe and collaborative relationship with clients. In that context, I do short and long-term psychotherapy and train clients to use specific protocols to modify symptoms that are in the way of personal and professional functioning. My approach provides support, guidance, and education to help you become the best version of yourself and work towards achieving your goals. I consider it an honor to work alongside you, and I look forward to meeting you soon.
Hi there,
I am a license mental health counselor licensed in Florida, Georgia, New York and DC. I obtained my degree from Troy University in Orlando, Florida. I have 15 years of experience working with clients. I have experience helping teens (13-17 years) and adults (18 years and older) manage their feelings of anger, anxiety, depression, career exploration/change, increase their self-esteem and others.
So great to meet you. My name is Kim, and I would love to work with you to solve and work through things that are keeping you up at night and things that are stopping you from reaching your full potential. Are you feeling sad, anxious, stressed or "fed up"? Many people are feeling just like you. Come and share those feelings and find ways to deal with the stressors that are holding you back. Over the past 18 years, I have worked with people from every walk of life who struggled with a large array of obstacles and together we were able to work with them in an enlightening, safe and positive space.
I’m a warm, insight-oriented therapist who offers a steady, compassionate space for adults navigating grief, relational wounds, and the impact of growing up around emotional chaos or inconsistency. My approach is grounded in deep listening and curiosity—I help clients slow down and make sense of their inner experience, uncovering patterns that may have once been protective but now feel limiting. Together, we create room for new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to your story. Healing, in my work, begins with being deeply seen and understood.
I am a female therapist with over ten years of experience. I became a therapist as I have always been drawn to helping professions.
I went to Manhattanville College for two years, and then transferred to the CUNY BA Program for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. I graduate with a degree in Social Work with Vulnerable Populations and Contemporary Global Issues. I then went to the NYU Silver School of Social Work and received a Masters in Social Work, and did the Zelda Fellowship in Palliative and End-of-life Care.
For more context, my first year internship, I spent interning at Talbot Hall, a (now closed) correctional facility in NJ. In my second year, under the Fellowship, I interned at the NY and Brooklyn Veterans Hospital.
I worked with Brightpoint (now Sunriver Health), then at NY Presbyterian Hospital (doing inpatient, then outpatient care), and now am in private practice.
I believe it's an honor to hear about the lives of others. I am also married, and have young children. I grew up in a large family. I have grown and lived in the NY/NJ area. Some personal background: I love to write, cook, bike, swim and am a vegetarian.
