Starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even intimidating—and it’s worth taking a moment to recognize the courage it takes to take this first step toward caring for your mental health. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where you can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-care, and more. My goal is to help you strengthen communication and boundaries with yourself and others so that you can improve your quality of life and move toward the future you envision. Therapy is not just about overcoming obstacles—it’s also about personal growth. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and identify strategies to help you move toward them, whether that means change over the next month, six months, or a year. You’ll leave our sessions with practical insights and “next steps” you can put into action right away. I believe life’s purpose isn’t simply to be happy, but to find meaning—and within that meaning, joy emerges. While the journey isn’t always easy, it can be transformative. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Drug Counselor, and Behavior Analyst. I take a strength-based approach, helping you use your unique abilities to address challenges. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have been licensed since 1996. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, attachment related issues, and a wide variety of trauma related situations, particularly with military personnel and first responders. I also have extensive post graduate training in areas related to neuropsychology, adoption, custody, child abuse, and forensics. I am qualified as an expert in these areas in several court jurisdictions in Florida and have worked internationally as well (Japan and Europe) in context with the military and internationals from Japan, Italy, and England. My doctoral research areas were Case Conceptualization and Attachment/Adult Psychopathology and I have served as an adjunct professor in clinical mental health My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I consider our therapeutic relationship as one as "an exchange of ideas". My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, psychodynamic and developmental based counseling. I am well trained in other modalities as well. I understand that it takes courage to seek help, and it's not easy to face fear. I do not believe that "you are your diagnosis". Rather, I will view you "as a a unique individual facing some challenges". My background and training is unique, and I think you will find that I see things very differently than most clinicians. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, my name is Justine Nyman. I want to thank you for taking the time to seek support. It is not easy to reach out or even realize that counseling/support is needed. So, I welcome you to therapy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I have 10 years' experience and continue to grow in my therapeutic approaches and my knowledge as a therapist. I create an environment where the client feels comfortable and open to emotional vulnerability. In order to express ourselves and be open with our struggles we need to feel comfortable in the therapeutic process. I use acceptance with my clients and don't judge them based on their history or their current choices. I want the client to feel that they can start their journey, set goals, use coping skills, and improve their overall well-being. Counseling is a process and takes time. Some individuals require more time than others and that is okay. I believe in moving with the pace of the client, through setting goals and practicing tools is essential for change. In order to feel change, we need to make changes in our everyday lives. If we don't initiate changes, it becomes a struggle to move forward. "Practice makes permanent" I look forward to working with you on your journey of growth, mastery, and success.

I’m Gretchen Raring, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW: NJ, FL, AZ & ND; LICSW: MA) with 20+ years in behavioral health. I provide individual and couples therapy, working with teens through older adults and supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My practice is grounded in the belief that therapy should feel supportive and purposeful. My style is warm, direct and collaborative, and I see therapy as a team effort. I want you to feel comfortable being honest while supported and challenged toward change. My approach is structured but flexible. We’ll have a sense of direction while making room for what matters most. I tailor my approach to your needs and goals. One strength is being highly attuned and building the trust that allows deeper work. Together, we’ll connect the dots between your experiences, emotions, relationships, thoughts, and behaviors. We’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop strategies for everyday life. My background includes work across mental health, addiction, trauma, homelessness, the criminal justice system, and community-based behavioral health. I’ve worked with people during difficult times in their lives. Those experiences shape how I practice and reinforce my belief that there is always more to someone’s story than what you see on the surface. I believe progress is about the direction of our work, not the speed. Change often happens through small steps. I believe in celebrating every win because those wins build confidence and momentum. Above all, whether we’re working together individually or as a couple, I want therapy to be a place for honest conversations, deeper understanding, practical tools, and meaningful change—at a pace that works for you. Individual Therapy: $105 per session (self-pay). Couples Therapy: $130 per session (self-pay only). Note: Couples therapy is on a private-pay basis (no insurance)

You can understand exactly why you keep doing something and still feel completely stuck in it. With 20 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with adults who are tired of repeating patterns that no longer work for them. My style is active, relational, practical, and conversational. We look beyond what happened to what keeps happening—what activates the pattern, what keeps it going, and where we can actually interrupt it. I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, neurodivergence, relationship difficulties, serious illness, major life transitions, and burnout from carrying too much for too long. I’m LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming of diverse identities, sexualities, and non-traditional relationship structures. I’m genuinely open-minded about how people build relationships and live their lives. You’re unlikely to shock me, and vanilla is certainly not a requirement for admission. You don’t have to clean yourself up for therapy. Bring the contradictions, questionable decisions, weird relationship dynamics, dark humor, 47 tabs of self-help information, and the thing you’re pretty sure will make me judge you. I probably won’t. My approach is integrative, drawing from CBT, motivational interviewing, attachment-based work, somatic and nervous-system awareness, mindfulness, behavioral strategies, and psychoeducation. I’m endlessly curious about what makes people tick, and I translate therapy concepts into normal language. I’m warm and supportive, but I’m not a therapist who just nods and agrees with everything you say. I’ll believe you about your experience while sometimes lovingly questioning the story your brain has built around it. I’ll notice patterns, contradictions, play devil’s advocate, and help turn insight into something useful outside the therapy room. We’ll probably laugh in therapy, sometimes about things that objectively aren’t funny. Humans are weird. Therapeutic fit matters enormously to me, and I have no ego about being the right therapist for everyone.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Florida. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Addiction, is filtering therapists in Florida that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
