Hi, I am Kamala, a FL LMHC. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Jacksonville University in 2003 and my master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2015. I have worked as a mental health counselor for five years. However, I have been in the field of helping people for 18 years, starting as a case manager at a homeless shelter and later as a special education teacher. What can I can say? People are my niche. Helping individuals get through life's difficulties is my purpose. The thing about it is, we may not be able to live 100% symptom-free, but we can live productive, fulfilling lives even with some discomfort. That may sound daunting, but I think it's realistic. Do you know why? Because even when we get through one thing, another thing is somewhere on the timeline waiting. I'm here to help you get through your "thing" now and prepare you for your "thing" later. Hope to meet you soon.

Hi, I am so glad you have decided to take a step in healing from your past. I specialize in working with people who grew up in families where there was some type of instability or turmoil. This could have been from addiction, mental health, abuse, neglect, anger, poverty, foster care placement, religious trauma or anything that caused some form of trauma. Oftentimes times those who grew up in this type of situation feel responsible for it or that somehow they should have fixed it.

Hello and Welcome! I'm Christy. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to a wide array of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and/or self-care, just to name a few. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share. I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker based in Miami, Florida. I earned my graduate degree from Florida International University in 2010 and have been licensed since 2016. My career began at Banyan Health Systems (formerly Miami Behavioral), where I worked as an adult mental health case manager back in 2004. After gaining my Masters degree, I continued to work for Banyan as a Child outpatient therapist and intake specialist. As a mother of three, I am deeply committed to family and believe that "family over everything" is the foundation of my personal and professional life. In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, spending time with my husband and three children, going to the beach and embracing the vibrant energy of my Miami roots.

I have been a practicing social worker for more than 30 years . Much of this experience has been working in a large public teaching hospital in Miami, Florida. The scope of service that the hospital provides is quite comprehensive which afforded me opportunities to work with a very diverse population . i have counseled patients and their families dealing with a variety of illnesses, both physical and mental health, survivors of sexual assault, and also providing counseling to patients in a correctional setting. I like challenging situations. My style of counseling is very eclectic, depends on the client and their unique set of problems. This can range from client centered, solution oriented or cognitive behavioral as many people are coming to therapy to learn new ways of thinking and alternative coping strategies. For the past two years, I have been involved in teletherapy providing psychotherapy to clients that are experiencing such problems as anxiety, depression, employment, relationship, and interpersonal difficulties. Also I have been providing counseling to teenagers dealing with the above issues and involving their parents when indicated.

One of my favorite life mantras is a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent". Thus, I enjoy helping others embrace their power. One of the most impactful ways to do that is a change in thought process. It has such a significant influence on the way we react and the type of emotions we feel. I chose to become a therapist after experiencing a time in my life when I struggled to find a provider I could truly relate to. I understand firsthand how intimidating or even uncomfortable it can feel to take that first step toward starting therapy. But I also know how profoundly rewarding the work you do in therapy can be—it’s a courageous and transformative journey that can lead to deeper self-awareness and lasting growth. Life’s challenges, whether they involve grief, complex relationships, trauma, anxiety, depression, career or life dissatisfaction, life transitions, intimacy, or sexuality, are all valid reasons to seek support. As your therapist, I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can explore these concerns and gain the tools to navigate them with confidence. Pursuing a deeper understanding of yourself and intentionally working toward a more fulfilling life are among the most empowering steps you can take. Together, we’ll work to help you reach your fullest potential and create a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and true to who you are.

Every client is unique and is facing their own distinctive challenges. Therefore each treatment plan should be personalized and individualized. An ideal client is one who comes to counseling with an open mind and is ready to try new approaches and coping skills. Each person will benefit differently from a wide variety of approaches. Together we can and will find the right strategies that work best for you. There is not a "normal" or "standard" cookie-cutter path. It is a journey! I have experience working with issues as grief, anxiety, anger, mood, neurological, trauma, relationship issues, substance use disorders, and more. I am dually independently licensed and passionate about providing the utmost quality of services to people struggling with mental health, substance use disorders and dual diagnoses. I have over 10 years of practice, including a wide array of experience, working with clients of all age groups individually, with couples and in groups. I have lived a long and colorful life. Like everyone else, I've made good and bad choices and learned from each. I have 22+ years experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My role is to offer another perspective, a way to see life more fully and function better, no more, no less. I don't pretend to have all the answers but only one slice of wisdom. I just share what can help someone. Some people are not yet ready to be helped. Yet for those who are feeling lost on life's journey and are willing to listen and learn, I'm here to assist. My life work can be summed up in three words, "offering people hope. " "Wouldn't take nothin' for my journey now." - Maya Angelou "The past is gone, and there is left only a blessing." - Kahlil Gibran "Be true to yourself, and you will be false to no one else." - William Shakespeare "How very lucky are we, for just a moment to be, part of life's eternal rhyme." Hi. I'm Marquita and I've been a social worker for 15 years and counting. I strive to help my clients navigate this challenging journey we know as life. Sometimes on this journey, we experience things such as anxiety, depression, life changes, set backs, and other bumps in the road, but what I've learned is that we can almost always navigate through or around them and keep on going. I use some conventional as well as unconventional techniques to work with my clients. I like to start where you are and not where I think you should be. We will use a mixture of cognitive behavioral, behavioral, mindfulness, and many other techniques to help us solve problems that we identify. I say "we", because we will do this together, but I allow you to drive. That just means I trust that you know yourself better than I do, but I will strive to help you find out just how strong you are and empower you to thrive in your life. We can do this together!

I am Dr. William A. Lambos. I am dedicated to providing quality care that emphasizes treating you as a whole person. In my treatment model, medication is a last resort and utilized only after other options have been fully explored. My approach differs in that I recognize the role of the brain in mental health. I recognize that problems in one area of a client's life impact other areas, and so my philosophy is designed to integrate all aspects of functioning. I am committed to helping you achieve balance and harmony in every area of your life by reducing stress and teaching independent self-regulation. What makes me different is that my approach "Leads with The Brain," and finishes with how you achieve balance and self-awareness. Many behavioral health issues have brain-based components that are usually ignored. Once these are identified and handled, therapy can do its job as it was always meant to work. In today's hectic, busy world, the keys to a peaceful and prosperous existence include the ability to manage stress caused by demands on our time and energy. The unique selection of resources combines effective traditional approaches with innovative methods of treating the brain and body.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take Tufts Health/Cigna?

Yes! If you use Tufts Health/Cigna you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Tufts Health/Cigna you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
