I’m a bilingual (English-Spanish) Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, women’s health concerns, and the emotional impact of chronic illness, especially cancer. I have a special interest in supporting individuals who are adjusting to unexpected changes, coping with uncertainty, or trying to reconnect with themselves after a difficult season. Clients often describe my style as warm, supportive, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation where you can be honest about what you are experiencing without feeling judged or rushed. My goal is to help you better understand your emotions, build on your strengths, and develop tools that support healing, clarity, and emotional balance. My approach is personalized and guided by your unique experiences, values, and goals. If you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or uncertain about your next steps, therapy can offer space to pause, make sense of what you are carrying, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and support.
Our first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know each other and to understand what brings you to therapy at this point in your life. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. Many people start therapy with a mix of emotions, including uncertainty, hope, nervousness, or relief, and all of that is welcome. During our first meeting, we will talk about what has been feeling difficult, what you have been carrying, and what you hope may feel different through therapy. I may ask about your current concerns, important life experiences, relationships, coping strategies, strengths, and goals. The purpose is not to rush into everything at once, but to begin understanding your story in a way that feels respectful and supportive. You can expect the session to feel warm, collaborative, and conversational. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to share. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported from the beginning.
I bring warmth, curiosity, and a steady presence to my sessions. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable enough to be honest about what they are experiencing, while also feeling supported in finding practical ways to move forward. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and work collaboratively. One of my strengths is helping clients better understand emotions that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to name. I support clients in making connections between their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and patterns, so they can gain clarity and feel more equipped to respond to life’s challenges. As a bilingual psychologist, I value creating a space that feels respectful of each client’s culture, background, values, and personal story. I also bring a practical and strengths-based approach, helping clients build coping tools, recognize their resilience, and take meaningful steps toward healing, clarity, and emotional balance.
My ideal client is someone who wants to better understand themselves and receive support in navigating a difficult season. They may be carrying stress, uncertainty, grief, or emotional heaviness, and are looking for a place where they can speak openly and feel supported without judgment. They may be going through an experience that has changed how they see themselves, their relationships, or their future. This could include a major life adjustment, health-related stress, caregiving responsibilities, or feeling disconnected from the person they used to be. They do not need to know exactly what they want from therapy before beginning. A good starting point is simply wanting to feel more grounded, gain clarity, and learn healthier ways to navigate what feels difficult. My ideal client values reflection, collaboration, and small steps toward healing and personal growth.
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to distress and build practical coping tools to manage challenges in healthier, more balanced ways.
I use CBT-I to help clients understand and improve patterns that may be affecting their sleep. This may include exploring thoughts, habits, routines, and stress responses that interfere with rest, while building practical strategies to support healthier and more restorative sleep.
I use grief therapy to help clients process loss, adjust to life changes, and make space for the emotions that come with grief. Sessions may focus on understanding the impact of the loss, honoring the relationship or experience, building coping tools, and finding ways to move forward while carrying grief with compassion.
I use mindfulness to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses without judgment. In sessions, we may practice grounding, breathing, and present-moment awareness to support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and create more space between feelings and reactions.
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation, and connect with their own reasons for change. Sessions focus on collaboration, curiosity, and supporting clients in identifying meaningful goals and realistic steps that align with their values.
