LMFT, 8 years of experience
Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Florida. I received my Masters from Nova Southeastern University and have been practicing for over 8 years. I work to support individuals and families struggling with life transitions/decisions, stressors, and anxiety. I help clients ranging from children/adolescence to young adults obtain therapeutic goals and become the best version of themselves.
During the first session, we will begin with brief introductions, and dive into the specific challenges you are experiencing. We will complete an assessment together which will give me a greater understanding of who you are and your history. Lastly, we will collaboratively identify goals you would like to achieve and work through in follow-up sessions.
I believe my greatest strength as a therapist is being able to connect with you and provide you with a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to be yourself, and express and process openly and freely.
I love working with emerging young adults who are in transitions and need support with major life decisions. Additionally, I enjoy working with adolescents and children between the age of 8 and 18 years to process and express feelings, explore thoughts and work through challenges and anxieties.
I’ve been using Family Therapy in my practice for over 7 years. This concept views the family as an interdependent system in which each member plays a role in maintaining the balance and dynamic of the whole. We will use Family Therapy to explore patterns (functional & dysfunctional) This method interactions, communication, and relationships among family members that contribute to issues and how patterns can be changed to promote healthier functioning.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 6 plus years. We will use CBT to understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they influence each other. Together, by identifying and challenging negative or unhelpful thoughts, you will be able to change how you feel and act. Additionally, you will develop skills and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and or depression.
I’ve bee using Play Therapy techniques for over 7 years with clients. Play Therapy is an approach I use with children, adolescence and young adults to help them express their feelings, explore their thoughts and work through challenges in a way that feels natural to them— through play. Since children tend to find it difficult to talk about their emotions directly, Play Therapy allows them to use toys, games and creative activities to communicate what they might not be able to say with words.
I’ve been using Strength-Based Therapy for 6 plus years. This approach focuses on identifying and building on your personal strengths rather than focuses on weaknesses. In this approach you will recognize the skills, qualities, and resources you already have and we will work together on how you can use your skills and qualities to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.
