New to Grow
Hi there! My name is Alaina and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2023. I specialize in working with women who are anxious high achievers, as well as those navigating people-pleasing behaviors and boundary setting. I bring my authentic self into every session, creating a warm, non-judgmental space where we can work together to support your growth and well-being.
My approach to working with clients is rooted in both cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy. I believe in a flexible, individualized approach, and I often draw from different modalities, whether it’s mindfulness, CBT skills, or other techniques based on each client’s unique needs. I see our work as a collaborative partnership, so we explore together to find what strategies fit best, ensuring that the path we take is the one that feels right for you.
As a therapist, I understand how difficult it can be to find the right therapist, or to have to start over with someone new. I know it can be anxiety-provoking, and while we might feel like strangers at first, I hope that after a few sessions, we’ll feel more connected. In our first session, I’ll create a safe, welcoming space for you to introduce yourself, sharing what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Together, we’ll get a sense of what your goals are, and we'll explore how we can start that journey. This is also a time for us to see if we have a good fit, so we can build a collaborative therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and openness.
My ideal client is someone who is navigating life transitions, whether it's family dynamics, work-life balance, or boundary setting. I work best with individuals who might be feelings overwhelmed, perhaps struggling with people-pleasing or finding their voice in relationships, and who are looking for a safe, collaborative space to grow. Many of the clients I work with are experiencing depression, anxiety, and are looking to better understand themselves and create meaningful change.
