I’m a mental health professional with a background in counseling, education, human services, and advocacy. I’ve worked with adults, youth, and families navigating relationships, life transitions, identity, stress, and difficult circumstances. My approach is relational, practical, and individualized. I believe therapy is about understanding the whole person, not just the problem that brought you in, and creating meaningful change that carries beyond the therapy room.
Hi, I'm Katherine Sharp, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina and Missouri, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and self-esteem concerns. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences and working toward meaningful change. I believe that therapy is most effective when it combines insight with practical tools. While learning coping strategies can help manage current challenges, I also believe that understanding your past can provide valuable insight into who you are today. Together, we may explore important life experiences, relationships, and patterns that have influenced your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and beliefs. Developing this deeper self-awareness can help you break free from unhelpful patterns and create lasting change. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care. Whether you're navigating a difficult life transition, struggling with anxiety or depression, processing past experiences, or seeking a greater understanding of yourself, I strive to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. I view therapy as a partnership and am committed to meeting you where you are while helping you move toward the life you want to create.
Dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, or OCD can make you feel completely on your own, but you don't have to navigate it by yourself. I work with older teens and adults to help break down what's getting in the way so you can start feeling like yourself again.
People usually find it easy to talk with me and open up at their own pace. If you're ready to make a change, reach out for a quick, free 15-minute consultation to see if we'd be a good match.

Hello, I’m Dennis Alvarez, PsyD.
I believe counseling should both encourage and thoughtfully challenge individuals to move toward their fullest potential by addressing the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of their lives. I hold a Doctorate in Psychology and a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a licensed psychotherapist with experience across hospital, treatment, and private-practice settings.
Throughout my career, I have provided individual and group therapy as well as comprehensive psychological assessments to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relational distress, substance-use concerns, and life-transition stressors. My clinical background includes work in hospitals, substance-use treatment programs, and outpatient private practice, where I integrate evidence-based approaches within a holistic, person-centered framework.
I am also the author of When Heaven Was Silent: Integrating Psychology and Theology in the Garden of Gethsemane, which explores the experience of mental suffering through both clinical and historical perspectives. My doctoral dissertation focused on trauma and psychological adaptation, further shaping my approach to helping individuals understand their internal patterns, build resilience, and restore a sense of meaning and purpose.
In my work with clients, I emphasize helping people understand how and why certain thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns develop, particularly in the context of anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance-use histories. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment while also encouraging insight, personal responsibility, and growth. My goal is to help you move toward a more grounded, authentic, and meaningful life.
I am a seasoned therapist who believes that real change happens in the space where insight meets emotional safety. I bring depth, honesty, and steadiness into the room, helping people understand the patterns that shape their relationships, self-worth, and responses to stress and loss. My approach integrates psychodynamic understanding, interpersonal awareness, and practical tools so that insight does not remain abstract but translates into meaningful change. I offer a grounded, non-judgmental presence where difficult emotions can be explored without shame, and I work collaboratively with clients to strengthen autonomy, clarity, and resilience. My goal is not simply symptom relief, but helping you build a more integrated and authentic sense of self.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in painful patterns that make it hard to manage daily life, relationships, or your sense of self-worth. Sometimes these struggles are tied to current life challenges, and other times they are connected to earlier experiences that continue to affect how you feel, relate to others, and respond to stress today. Therapy can help you better understand what is going on and begin making meaningful changes.
I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking licensed psychotherapist and the author of Healing Childhood Trauma. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, and relationship difficulties. I help clients explore the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building healthier ways of coping, relating, and moving through daily life.
My approach is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I work with respect for your pace and aim to create a space where you can better understand your experiences, work through emotional pain, and build more secure patterns in your life and relationships.
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I support you through this process with the goal of helping you feel more secure, more confident, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges. When you feel ready to begin, I invite you to schedule our first session today.
Licensed Psychotherapist | Culturally Sensitive | Trauma-Informed
Welcome, I’m Nubia.
Healing doesn’t happen overnight — but with the right support, it absolutely happens. Whether you're working through trauma, betrayal, anxiety, divorce, or simply feeling emotionally stuck, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity, strength, and care.
I work with adults navigating life transitions, stress, or emotional wounds that have been hard to process alone. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or unsure of how to break free from patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we explore the deeper “why” behind those patterns — and create space for healing, resilience, and growth.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). These methods help us understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected — and how to gently shift the beliefs that keep you feeling stuck. But beyond technique, I lead with authenticity, compassion, and cultural awareness.
In our sessions, you’ll find a space that feels safe, honest, and judgment-free. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’re returning to it, you are welcome exactly as you are.
Clients often tell me they feel more centered, more empowered, and more hopeful after working together. I offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and virtual sessions, because healing should fit into real life.
If you’re ready to begin your journey — whether you’re clear on your goals or still figuring them out — I’d be honored to support you.
Let’s take the first step, together.
Warmly,
Nubia Anacius , MS,NBCC,LPC
Licensed Psychotherapist
Sometimes life blows up in a way you never saw coming. A relationship ends. Someone lies to you. Trust gets shattered. You lose someone you love. Anxiety starts taking over your brain. Or you wake up one day and realize the life you thought you were building is not the life you actually have.
A lot of the people I work with are functioning just fine on the outside while internally thinking, What the hell just happened to my life? They're replaying conversations, second-guessing themselves, trying to make sense of someone else's behavior, wondering whether they missed something, and feeling completely exhausted by their own thoughts.
You don't need to show up with a diagnosis or a beautifully organized explanation of what's wrong. You can bring the messy version.
I'm not a therapist who is going to sit silently for 50 minutes, nod occasionally, and then ask how that made you feel. I am engaged. I ask questions. I notice patterns. I will tell you what I'm seeing. I will validate what deserves validation, and I will also challenge you when I think you are getting stuck, avoiding something important, or being much harder on yourself than the situation actually calls for.
There is room here for grief, anger, confusion, ugly truths, dark humor, bad decisions, overthinking, faith, and the occasional sentence that starts with, "I know this sounds crazy, but..."
I work especially well with adults dealing with anxiety, grief, heartbreak, betrayal, complicated relationships, and major life changes.
What happened matters. But I do not want the worst thing that happened to you to become the organizing principle for the rest of your life.
Trained as a psychologist (Ph.D. from Cornell University). Some 20 years later I earned a second graduate degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. I am a fully licensed therapist in the State of Florida.
I have taught psychology at Princeton, Tulane, Cornell, and Harvard Medical School.
We will spend most of our time creating solutions, instead of analyzing problems. So often, therapy gets bogged down in the endless exploration of problems. Problems are the results of behaviors that didn't work for you in the past. Solutions flow from changes that will work for you starting right now. Solutions make your life better. They bring joy and peace to your life.

My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative environment where clients can build self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and work toward their goals at a pace that feels right for them. Together, we focus on developing practical coping skills fostering personal growth, and helping clients create positive changes that align with their goals.

In our work, we’ll build practical coping skills while also exploring the deeper patterns that may be holding you back. My goal is to help you feel empowered, not just in session, but in your everyday life.

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision, and I honor the courage it takes to begin this process. If we work together, you can expect a therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, and respect. I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are—no masks, no pressure—and begin to explore what healing and growth look like for you.
My approach is thoughtful and tailored. I draw from evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, adapting each session to meet your needs and goals. Whether you are navigating anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I help you make sense of your experiences, strengthen emotional awareness, and find new ways to move forward.
I believe therapy should not just be about coping—it should be about transformation. That might mean learning how to quiet an inner critic, setting healthier boundaries, deepening relationships, or reconnecting with your sense of purpose. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, and I will walk beside you each step of the way with compassion, curiosity, and care.
