New to Grow
I am a compassionate, culturally responsive therapist who is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families through healing, growth, and transformation. I bring a lived understanding of cultures and the unique emotional experiences of navigating life in a complex world. My professional background includes extensive experience in mental health, substance use, family therapy, and maternal health, where she supported individuals through detox and residential care, mental health crisis, grief, loss, burnout, family conflicts, life changes, pregnancy, pre and postpartum care. I have a strong foundation with understanding how trauma, stress, systemic barriers, and unmet emotional needs often intersect with coping behaviors. My approach is nonjudgmental, strengths-based, Inclusive, and focused on restoring hope, autonomy, and self-trust. Healing is not one-size-fits-all. My goal is to walk alongside you, honor your story. I am a compassionate, culturally responsive therapist who is deeply committed to supporting you and your family through healing, growth, and transformation.
My approach is warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental. During your first session, we will focus on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and discussing what brings you to therapy. This is a space for you to share your experiences, goals, and any challenges you may be facing at a pace that feels comfortable for you. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn more about my therapeutic style, and begin building a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Together, we will identify goals and begin creating a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. You can expect a safe and compassionate environment where you are encouraged to be open, honest, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
What stands out about my approach is that I create a therapy space that feels safe, supportive, empowering, and genuinely human. My style is warm, down-to-earth, humanistic, relatable, and free of overwhelming “psychobabble,” while still using evidence based approaches like CBT, DBT, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered therapy. As a Creole speaking therapist, I understand the importance of culture, family dynamics, and feeling truly seen and understood. I bring experience working as a birth educator and as a mental health and substance use counselor, allowing me to support clients through a wide range of life challenges. Clients often appreciate that I incorporate humor, authenticity, creativity, and compassion into the therapeutic process while helping them build practical tools for healing, growth, and emotional wellness.
I work best with Individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally drained, or simply trying to figure life out. Many of my clients come to therapy wanting a safe space to talk openly, feel understood, and learn healthier ways to cope with stress, relationships, anxiety, life changes, or emotional pain. I’m especially a good fit for people who want a therapist who feels real, warm, culturally aware, and easy to talk to. My clients often appreciate that they don’t have to “have it all together” in sessions. Therapy with me is about feeling supported, understood, empowered, and learning practical ways to care for yourself while growing into the version of yourself you want to be.
Integrative
In my practice, I utilize an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based treatment methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. My experience working in both mental health and substance use treatment settings has allowed me to support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs by helping them identify unhealthy thought patterns, build effective coping skills, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop healthier relationships with themselves and others. My approach emphasizes collaboration, safety, empowerment, and practical strategies that clients can apply in their daily lives to support long-term healing and growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhealthy thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and emotional distress. I guide clients in developing healthier thinking patterns, improving emotional regulation, and implementing practical coping strategies that support long-term change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients build skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I often use DBT with clients who experience intense emotions, relationship difficulties, impulsive behaviors, or challenges managing stress.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use Person Centered Therapy to create a supportive, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences openly. I believe in meeting clients where they are, fostering self-awareness, empowerment, and growth through authenticity and unconditional positive regard.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I utilize mindfulness practices such as grounding exercises, breathing techniques, guided reflection, body awareness, and emotional check-ins to help clients build coping skills and improve overall emotional wellness. These interventions are especially helpful for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, overwhelm, and difficulty managing daily stressors.
