LMHC, 5 years of experience
Hi, I’m Melissa. I’m a mindfulness advocate who believes in meeting people where they are, especially when life feels complex or overwhelming. I’m dedicated to creating a safe and compassionate space where we can collaborate on meaningful goals and deepen your connection with yourself. I specialize in working with trauma, relationships, and life transitions—including the profound moments of birth and death. Life can bring both beauty and challenges, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming to carry it all alone. Therapy offers a place to bring your whole self: your hopes, fears, emotions, and stories, so together we can explore what matters most to you and set meaningful goals. I believe we all hold the answers within us, even if life’s struggles make them hard to hear. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy and trust, helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom and uncover a deeper sense of self. Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or seeking greater clarity and growth, you deserve support that honors your unique journey.
Together, we will explore not only the challenges you're facing, but also your strengths, values, and capacity for growth. I believe therapy is a collaborative process rooted in mutual respect. Your goals, your pace, and your experiences are central to the work we’ll do together. Through this process, you can begin to cultivate a deeper sense of congruence: a life where your inner self and outer world are more aligned, and where self-love, confidence, and trust can grow.
I work from a person-centered approach, which means I view you as the expert of your own experience. This humanistic model of therapy emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. My role is not to tell you who you are or what to do, but to support you in discovering that for yourself. I also draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based practices, which can provide useful tools and insights as we work together to identify patterns, process emotions, and build coping strategies that serve you in your daily life.
I work with children, teens, and adults, and tailor treatment to meet the individual needs of each client. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, self-doubt, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, or past trauma, I aim to offer a safe, welcoming space where you can explore what healing means for you. It would be an honor to walk beside you on your path toward greater emotional wellness and self-understanding. I truly believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the power of connection in the healing process. You don’t have to do this alone.
As a clinician I utilize Cognitive behavioral therapeutic techniques with clients to help them identify, challenge, and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to their emotional distress.
I integrate Mindfulness-based therapeutic techniques in session to help clients cultivate present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, and self-acceptance. (e.g., breath work and relaxation techniques).
I am a Person-Centered Therapist (PCT) and utilize techniques to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel accepted, heard, and empowered to explore their emotions and experiences.
