Alejandra Mejia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor with over 14 years of experience working with individuals and families in various settings. Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, yet so many people feel alone in their challenges. Alejandra wanted to be the person who reminds them they are not alone, that healing, growth, and happiness are within reach. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families through their most difficult moments, helping them find strength, clarity, and resilience. Alejandra is committed to empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, I have always been passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of adolescents/youth and young adults. After earning a degree in Social Work from Florida International University, I gained extensive experience working with young people in various educational settings, including Ferguson Senior High School, South Miami Heights Elementary, and Richmond Heights Middle School as a Mental Health Coordinator. I also have experience working individuals with disabilities and veterans experiencing homelessness/substance abuse.

Since 2005 I’ve had the privilege of working as a therapist and clinical social worker. I’ve had the honor of walking alongside my clients and bearing witness to some of their most life-changing and difficult experiences. These experiences are often accompanied by changes in sense of self, relationships, and quality of life that can be equally difficult to navigate. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and board certified diplomate in clinical social work (BCD). I completed my masters (MSW) and Ph.D. degrees in social work and am also a full-time university instructor. My work experience includes 20 years of direct clinical practice, along with teaching in higher education, clinical supervision, and research. Therapy begins within a safe space for expression, processing and problem-solving, and growth. Every person has the strength and abilities to work through the challenges they face. My role is to promote empowerment and provide clarity, insight, and support as clients master these challenges. I am a steadfast advocate for LGBTQ+ clients and families and racial and social justice.
