I received my PhD from Duke University and have been a practicing psychologist for many years. I work primarily with behavioral sleep medicine because sleep problems are so widespread and there are not enough specialists to meet the need. I continue working with people with anxiety, depression, and couples issues. The methods I use are evidence-based and trauma-informed. I am also an ordained member of the clergy (rabbi) and consider one's spirituality an important part of treatment for many, though not all people. I’ve practiced telehealth exclusively since early 2020. Most people like working this way because of convenience. Therapy is not adversely affected and I am even able to do hypnosis via telehealth.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional with private practice and outpatient setting experience. I am also a certified Reiki Healer Levels I and II. I have spent several years supporting professionals in their career development and have a passion for professional coaching with the use of Motivational Interviewing techniques. My experience is in helping clients who lack purpose, experience stress and anxiety, relationship issues, low motivation, low self-esteem and challenges with confidence, as well as career difficulties. I am a professional woman of color and have navigated through the dynamics of the corporate world. In my own experience, I have learned to heavily lean on more holistic approaches that have resulted in long-term changes in my view of the world and in the way I approach life's challenges. One of the biggest takeaways from our work together will hopefully be the understanding and acceptance that life's journey comes with "peaks and valleys" and how we respond to these will greatly influence our perspective of the self and how we show up for others and to the world we live in. I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming your challenges. Since 2005 I’ve had the privilege of working as a therapist and clinical social worker. I’ve had the honor of walking alongside my clients and bearing witness to some of their most life-changing and difficult experiences. These experiences are often accompanied by changes in sense of self, relationships, and quality of life that can be equally difficult to navigate. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and board certified diplomate in clinical social work (BCD). I completed my masters (MSW) and Ph.D. degrees in social work and am also a full-time university instructor. My work experience includes direct clinical practice as well as teaching in higher education, clinical supervision, and research. The therapeutic relationship begins within a safe space for expression, processing and problem-solving, and growth. Each client has the strength and abilities to work through the challenges they face. My role is to promote empowerment and provide clarity, insight, and support as clients master these challenges.
