My name is Penny Nevins. I am a Licensed Mental Health Provider with over 20 years of experience. I have been blessed to serve individuals ages 4 to 100. I have worked in an array of settings. I would be honored to serve you on your journey to reach your counseling goals. I truly believe that reaching out for support during a difficult time in your journey is the biggest step you take to reclaim your best self.
During our first session I will provide a welcoming, genuine, empathetic, and compassionate space. We will discuss the process of counseling and identify your goals of treatment.
Having over 20 years of experience, my compassion for others is my greatest strength. I believe that being authentic and empathetic has helped me guide many clients as they reach their goals.
I am versed in many client experiences and diagnoses. I love to help a client reach their goals of treatment by unleashing their personal strengths. I believe client's seek help when they are ready to initiate change. I am here to provide support and accountability on the journey. I enjoy working with adults who are seeking support to make necessary changes to find there most authentic self. I enjoy working with children through creative therapy techniques focused on clients' own strengths. I enjoy working with mature adults and providing a supportive ear to listen mature during life transitions. I enjoy helping adolescents reach their goals and overcome the teenage "funk". I'd love to work with individuals dealing with compassion fatigue, caregiver stress, grief/loss, and situations that may lead to feeling inadequate of unappreciated.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-focused therapy focuses on strengths and goal setting. Often times, clients are experiencing phase of life issues that can be resolved with short-term supportive counseling.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. CBT has shown to be effective with children, adolescents, and adults stuck in negative patterns of thinking and behaving.
Faith based therapy
Utilizing one's faith in treatment assists clients in reclaiming their hope when times seem bleak
Play Therapy
I enjoy utilizing play therapy to engage children in therapy utilizing creative strengths the individual already possesses.
Grief Therapy
Meeting the client where they are during their time of loss and acknowledging that grief is a process that has no time limits.
