New to Grow
I'm glad you're here. Although this season of your life might be hard, there is hope and most importantly purpose within this struggle. Our greatest growth as a person often comes through periods of suffering - they are meant to be transformative. It is my desire to help you see that. My name is Kate, and I have practiced for over 12 years. I combine evidence-based techniques along with compassion and my own personal experience because let's face it - we are all imperfect people. I truly enjoy each client I work with and consider it a privilege to enter into this healing journey with you.
The first session is about building a relationship and finding out who you are. I want to know why you are coming to counseling and what you expect from me. My main goal is that you feel safe, comfortable and free to be yourself.
I launched a Christian counseling practice three years ago. I enjoy being able to integrate my Christian faith into the counseling session for clients who are looking for faith-based counseling. I have also been trained in EFT, CBT, DBT and attachment-based therapy. I'm always looking for ways to grow and improve as a counselor.
Couples who need to know there is hope for their relationship. Folks who desperately want to be free from the chains of addictions. Parents who feel lost on how to connect with their child. The single parent who is navigating separation/divorce and needs a safe place.
I use EFT primarily with couples to focus on attachment and emotional bonds. It is a good modality for exploring what is underneath conflict, such as insecurities or fears.
I have used Christian counseling for over 12 years. It is a great foundation for clients seeking Biblically based counseling.
CBT is used to help clients work through anxiety and depression by examining their core beliefs and then replacing distorted thinking with positive thoughts.
DBT is beneficial to help clients regulate their emotions. These skills include mindfulness, acceptance and distress tolerance.
