I am a licensed therapist in the sunshine state of Florida. I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and served for over ten years in the social services field, specializing in women and children victims of trauma, specifically in the area of domestic violence and sexual assault. After completing a master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, in 2019, I have worked in private practice and non-for-profit organizations providing services to individuals, couples, and families, with an array of mental health and emotional issues ranging from depression, anxiety, infidelity, communication, self-esteem, family conflict, parenting, and ADHD. Experiencing challenges could be overwhelming, draining, and lonely at times, which is why I believe that as a therapist the most important tool I can offer is being present and genuinely caring for the wellbeing of those seeking help. It is an honor for me to be invited to be part of someone's healing journey.
During their initial session, and beyond, clients can expect a welcoming, non judgement environment in in which to feel heard and seen. During the first session, I built rapport with clients by being present and demonstrating genuine curiosity about their story; clients are the experts in own lives and my goal is to provide support.
As a Christian, I incorporate a holistic approach to counseling with those who want to connect their faith in God to their mental health journey and inner healing process. As an immigrant Latina, I work from a multicultural, multigenerational perspective, understanding that family, society, and the general culture play an important role in the development of personality, ideas, values, and beliefs.
The clients I am best positioned to serve include Teenagers, Women, Couples, & Christians (faith based).
I incorporate Biblical principles, with those who identify as Christians, and who want to work from a holistic perspective in order to process life challenges and explore Christ centered solutions.
As a family therapist, my approach is always from a systemic perspective. Whether providing individual, couples, or family session, there is always the understanding that family values and expectations, influence who we are, what we do, and our perception of the world.
During the therapeutic process I take into account cultural factors, to include race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic factors, and its role not only in one's perception of the world, but also in each client's unique and global experiences and challenges based on those cultural factors.
