I have over 40 years experience counseling others, first as a pastoral minister and then as a psychotherapist since 2001. I earned my Masters in Divinity from the Washington Theological Union in 1993 and served as a youth minister, hospital and prison chaplain and parish priest until 2000. I earned my Masters in Social Work from the University at Albany, NY in 2001 and worked in a mental health clinic in rural New York state for 14 years. There I assessed and treated a wide variety of issues and provided a broad range of treatment approaches. I've supervised other therapists and taught clinical social work practice to graduate students for over 9 years. In 2018, while teaching as an adjust instructor in the social work department of Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL, I started my private practice as an independent contractor for a psychiatric practice. Since then I moved back to the Albany, NY area and branched out to see clients privately who live in NY as well as in Florida. I currently am licensed in NY, FL and North Carolina and can see clients that live in or migrate throughout the year among those three states.
