Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where we’ll discuss your goals for therapy and explore what brings you to counseling. I’ll listen carefully to understand your experiences, and we’ll collaboratively decide on the best approach for your unique needs. Together, we will identify areas you’d like to focus on and begin laying the foundation for healing and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider are my empathy, flexibility, and ability to create a safe, client-led environment. I am deeply attuned to my clients’ emotional needs and take a compassionate approach to help them explore their challenges. My background in hospice care has given me a unique understanding of grief, caregiving, and personal transformation. I also draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to ensure that therapy feels tailored and empowering for each individual.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adults, college students, and caregivers who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or life transitions. I work well with individuals who are seeking a compassionate and supportive space to explore their emotions and gain clarity about their life’s challenges. My background in hospice care also allows me to connect deeply with clients dealing with grief and caregiving issues.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for the past 8 years and I integrate its principles into my sessions to help clients overcome challenges and achieve their goals. My experience with CBT spans various contexts, including individual therapy, and online platforms. I often incorporate homework assignments, and journaling exercises to reinforce learning outside of sessions and promote sustained progress.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy is a specialized area of practice that requires a sensitive and empathetic approach. My experience with grief therapy encompasses working with individuals who are navigating various types of loss, including the death of a loved one, the end of a significant relationship, or other life transitions. I understand that grief is a deeply personal journey, and I tailor my interventions to meet each client's unique needs and circumstances. This may involve helping clients process their emotions, identify and express their grief-related thoughts and feelings, and find meaning and purpose in their loss.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is a powerful approach that I integrate into my practice to help clients cultivate present-moment awareness, acceptance, and self-compassion. In sessions, I introduce clients to mindfulness practices such as meditation, body scan exercises, and mindful breathing techniques. These practices serve as tools for developing greater awareness of thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment.
