Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to the human condition. Before becoming a therapist, I often found myself taking on roles as a helper, listener, and encourager to those around me. For years, I was unsure what path would lead me to a place where I could help others. While attending college, I began to learn about different organizations advocating for mental health and serving different communities. My passion for mental health grew, as did my certainty in becoming a therapist.
I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with nearly 15 years of experience working with youth, adolescents, adults, and families to improve their mental health. I specialize in addressing issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting issues, and more.
I earned my Master's degree Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. I also completed a certification in loss and healing and a certification in trauma as well as two additional years of post-graduate study, passed the advanced national clinical board, and gained my professional license in the state of Florida afterward. I have chosen to continue my education by taking hundreds of hours of additional courses in the neurobiology of trauma, grief and loss, abuse recovery, child development, parenting, and communication.
We all encounter obstacles in our lives. I am confident that I will be able to assist you on this journey providing you with enlightenment and new techniques that will enable you to be able to cope with whatever challenges or obstacles you may be facing in life. If you are wanting to embark on this new journey, schedule an appointment with me today!

With a direct yet compassionate approach to therapy, I help clients identify issues that are causing distress in their lives. I have 36 years of experience and have written two books: "Bipolarized" and "Borderline" -- one on bipolar disorder and the other on borderline personality disorder. Many clients gain insight into their disorders through reading my books and identifying a list of issues to work on in therapy. Hypnotherapy is extremely valuable and I ask clients to record the sessions to listen to the recording every day. This reinforces positive messages to improve self-esteem, reduce anxiety, stress and depression and identify relevant issues on a subconscious level.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, quick to anger, or frustrated in your relationships — you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel like something just isn’t working, but they can’t quite explain why. Often, these struggles come from early experiences where emotions were ignored, dismissed, or too much for the adults around us to handle.
As children, we learn fast: if expressing emotions doesn’t feel safe or accepted, we push them down. Over time, that emotional disconnection can turn into anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, or anger that feels hard to control.
My work focuses on helping you understand where these patterns come from and how to shift them. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that feels heavy, anger that shows up too fast, or relationship challenges that keep repeating — we’ll work together to untangle the deeper story and build healthier ways of coping, connecting, and feeling.
This isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been shut down for too long.

I have been a practicing social worker for more than 30 years . Much of this experience has been working in a large public teaching hospital in Miami, Florida. I like challenging situations. My style of counseling is very eclectic, depends on the client and their unique set of problems. For the past two years, I have been involved in teletherapy providing psychotherapy to clients that are experiencing such problems as anxiety, depression, employment, relationship, and interpersonal difficulties. Also I have been providing counseling to teenagers dealing with the above issues and involving their parents when indicated.

I’m Rachel, a therapist passionate about supporting teens and young adults as they navigate life’s transitions and challenges. I create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where you can explore what’s on your mind and learn practical tools for growth and balance. I also help clients work through relationship struggles—whether that means navigating conflict, setting healthy boundaries, or healing after a breakup. My down-to-earth style makes therapy feel supportive, empowering, and real.
With over two decades of experience as a licensed mental health therapist, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients across different life stages and challenges. My approach to therapy is eclectic and collaborative, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each client.
Throughout my career, I have witnessed meaningful change as clients make progress in their emotional well-being and personal growth. I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns, and I also enjoy helping couples strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and find their way back to one another during difficult periods.
My therapeutic style is grounded in empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to creating a safe and supportive space. I will be direct and challenge you when appropriate. I strive to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as they develop insight, resilience, and practical tools for change. I believe in each person’s capacity for growth and healing, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside clients on their journey toward greater clarity, connection, and well-being.
