Hello, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois, Florida, and Massachusetts (LICSW/LCSW). I earned a Master of Social Work degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work in Independent Clinical Practice and Health Care Specialization from Aurora University in 2016. I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have experience working with individuals experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, stress, life transitions, LGBTQ+ related issues, imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, perfectionism, grief, loneliness, ADHD, OCD, trauma, and substance abuse. I collaborate with my clients to develop a treatment plan that will help achieve their desired goals. I provide support, compassion, and psychoeducation to my clients. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about your concerns and what you are struggling with.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Through personal challenges and struggles in my life, I realized how important it is to have someone listen to you and support you. Seeking support from others during a difficult time is a strength; not a weakness. We learn how to cope, manage, and heal by sharing our struggles and hardships with others. My mission is to help others achieve their goals and build happiness and resiliency for their life's journey.

I teach coping skills to help manage anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, depression, ADHD, OCD, stress, and substance abuse. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients manage their anxiety and depression symptoms. Learning and practicing CBT skills will help people identify cognitive distortions, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and reframe negative/anxious thinking so they can feel better.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Clients will learn mindfulness coping skills and grounding techniques to help manage anxiety, depression, and panic attacks.

Motivational Interviewing

Clients will explore strategies to build motivation and strengthen a commitment for change.

Clients will practice gratitude interventions, words of affirmation, recognize their strengths, and focus on being happy and content.

Susan takes a tactic based approach to handling folks with ADHD. She provides tools (worksheets, articles, and helpful videos) for those who need more than just conversational therapy. I've never had a provider understand my needs like that before. I always looks forward to chatting with her and she's helped me so much.
