New to Grow
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. I believe that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and empowered. My approach is collaborative, meeting each client where they are while helping them build practical skills to navigate life's challenges. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based interventions. I enjoy helping clients identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, increase self-awareness, develop healthy coping strategies, and build resilience. Whether clients are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, or substance use, I strive to create a space where they feel safe exploring difficult experiences and discovering their strengths. Clients often describe my style as warm, genuine, direct, and encouraging. I balance empathy with accountability, gently challenging unhelpful beliefs while supporting clients in making meaningful and lasting changes. I value authenticity and work to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration. My goal is to help each client gain confidence, improve emotional well-being, and develop the tools needed to create a life that aligns with their values. I believe therapy is not about fixing people, it is about empowering them to recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
Your intake session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. During our first session, we will review important paperwork, discuss confidentiality and its limits, and talk about what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, medical and mental health history, coping strategies, and any previous counseling experiences. These questions help me gain a better understanding of your unique experiences and identify the best approach to support your goals. We'll also discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy and begin identifying treatment goals that are meaningful to you. You are encouraged to ask questions at any time, and you never have to share more than you feel ready to discuss. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of the session, we'll review next steps, discuss recommendations for treatment, and schedule future appointments if appropriate. My goal is for you to leave the intake session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer understanding of how we will work together to help you reach your goals. Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, but taking this first step is an important investment in your well-being. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth.
Therapy should feel like a genuine conversation, not an interrogation or a place where you feel judged. My approach is warm, collaborative, and conversational, creating an environment where you can speak openly and honestly without feeling pressured or rushed. While I ask thoughtful questions to better understand your experiences, our sessions are designed to feel natural and engaging rather than overly clinical. I believe that every client is the expert on their own life. My role is to help you gain insight, recognize patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and develop practical tools that support lasting change. Rather than simply listening, I actively work alongside you by providing feedback, education, coping strategies, and evidence-based interventions tailored to your unique needs and goals. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches. I strive to explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand and applicable to everyday life, so you leave each session with greater clarity and practical skills you can use outside of therapy. Clients often appreciate my balance of empathy and honesty. I will validate your experiences while also gently challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and encouraging growth. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel both supported and empowered to step outside their comfort zone. Above all, I value authenticity and connection. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where you feel comfortable being yourself, asking questions, sharing your experiences, and celebrating your progress. Together, we'll work toward helping you build confidence, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
I work best with individuals who are ready to invest in themselves and are open to personal growth, even if they're unsure where to begin. You don't have to have all the answers or be "doing okay" to start therapy—just a willingness to show up and engage in the process. I enjoy working with clients navigating relationship challenges, including family conflict, unhealthy relationship patterns, codependency, communication difficulties, boundary setting, and recovery from toxic or emotionally abusive relationships. I also help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, low self-esteem and stress. Many of my clients feel stuck in repetitive cycles, question their self-worth, or find themselves putting others' needs before their own. Together, we'll identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies to create healthier relationships with yourself and others. Because therapy is a collaborative process, I work best with clients who are open to honest conversations, self-reflection, and trying new coping skills between sessions. Progress doesn't require perfection, it requires consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to grow. If you're looking for a therapist who provides a warm, conversational approach while also offering practical tools, gentle accountability, and evidence-based guidance, we may be a great fit. My goal is to help you gain insight, build confidence, strengthen healthy boundaries, and create lasting change that extends beyond the therapy room.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and build practical coping skills to manage life's challenges. Sessions are collaborative, conversational, and focused on creating meaningful, lasting change. CBT emphasizes applying what you learn outside of therapy through simple exercises and real-life practice. The goal is to help you increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and develop the confidence and tools needed to navigate challenges more effectively.
Attachment-based therapy explores how early relationships and life experiences may influence the way you view yourself, connect with others, and respond in relationships today. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be contributing to relationship difficulties, build greater self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. This approach helps strengthen emotional security, improve communication, foster healthier relationships, and support lasting personal growth.
Psychoeducation provides information and practical tools to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Throughout therapy, you'll learn about common mental health concerns, coping strategies, communication skills, stress management, emotional regulation, and healthy relationship patterns. By increasing knowledge and self-awareness, psychoeducation empowers you to make informed decisions, build resilience, and apply effective skills to support lasting growth and positive change.
