About me

Hello, and welcome! My name is Christy Liger, and I am a Florida native of Haitian heritage and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic services. My background and experiences have shaped my appreciation for the importance of culture, family, and each person’s unique life journey. I believe that seeking support is a courageous step, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered. I have experience working with individuals navigating mood and emotional concerns, trauma, attention-related challenges, health-related challenges, and significant life transitions. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, adjusting to a new season of life, or simply trying to better understand yourself and figure out what you want next, you don’t have to have all the answers before starting therapy. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll explore what’s going on, identify what matters most to you, and develop practical tools that you can actually use in your everyday life. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you while helping you gain greater self-awareness, build confidence, develop healthier ways of coping, and feel more prepared for whatever comes next.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. You may know exactly what you want to work on, or you may simply know that something needs to change. Either way, we can start there. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. We’ll talk at a pace that feels comfortable, and you’ll have space to ask questions and get a sense of what it’s like to work with me. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and comfortable taking the next step together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my strengths as a therapist is connecting with people in a way that feels genuine, comfortable, and respectful. I’m warm and approachable, but I also believe therapy should have purpose. I’ll listen, ask thoughtful questions, offer a different perspective, and challenge you when it may help you grow. Working with people from different cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences has taught me the importance of listening without making assumptions. I want to understand your story from your perspective and what matters most to you. Therapy can involve difficult conversations, but it doesn’t always have to feel heavy. There’s room for reflection, humor, learning, and recognizing your progress along the way. My goal is to keep our work focused and meaningful while still allowing you to feel comfortable being yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Maybe you’re at a crossroads in your career, adjusting to life as an empty-nester, navigating the end of a relationship, or simply realizing you’re ready for something different. I enjoy working with people who want to better understand themselves, grow, and explore what this next chapter of life could look like. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I’ll meet you where you are, give you space to talk openly without judgment, and help you work through what may be keeping you stuck. I’ll support and encourage you, but I’ll also challenge you when a different perspective may help you move forward. Therapy is a partnership, and what happens outside of our sessions matters too. We’ll develop tools that make sense for your life and help you put what you’re learning into practice. You don’t need to have everything figured out—you just need to be open to the process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, gently challenge beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies to help you navigate life's challenges. While I'll always meet you with understanding and compassion, I'll also encourage you to reflect, grow, and step outside of your comfort zone when it supports your healing and personal goals.
