Licensed to practice in Florida and accepts 10 insurances. Specializes in Anxiety, Chronic Illness, Depression
Hello, and welcome! My name is Christy Liger, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida with over 10 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic services. I believe that seeking support is a courageous step, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, including medical social work and programs serving veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support people from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and life backgrounds who are navigating challenges such as chronic and terminal illnesses, trauma, caregiver stress, mental health concerns, and major life transitions. They have strengthened my ability to meet each client where they are, provide compassionate, individualized care, and recognize that every person's journey is unique. I have experience working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, substance use disorders, chronic and terminal illnesses, as well as life transitions and other emotional challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. Together, we will identify your goals, develop practical tools and coping strategies, and work at a pace that feels right for you as you move toward healing, growth, and improved well-being. Whether you're facing a difficult season or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth.
During our first session, we'll begin by getting to know one another and discussing what brought you to therapy. This initial session is an opportunity for you to share your concerns, personal experiences, and what you hope to gain from therapy at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we'll explore your goals, discuss what you can expect from the therapeutic process, and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable, heard, and empowered as we begin your journey toward healing and personal growth.
I utilize evidence-based interventions such as Solution Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I like to use strength-based and psycho-educational approaches to identify and focus on your strengths, resilience, and positive coping mechanisms. Each case is individualized to fit your situation and needs. During some sessions, I may ask you to complete some written tasks to assess your current levels of emotions, safety, and functional state. I may also assign "homework" in-between the sessions to review new skills, practice coping strategies, and restructure destructive beliefs.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to meet you where you are—without judgment. I recognize that every person's journey is unique, and I strive to build trust through genuine connection, compassion, and authentic rapport. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and life backgrounds, and I recognize that every person's experiences and needs are unique. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself and openly sharing your thoughts and feelings. I am committed to meeting you where you are, honoring your experiences, and working alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and the goals that matter most to you. You don't have to go through life's challenges alone. Whether you're seeking support for the first time or returning to therapy, I'm here to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as we work toward your goals.
I love working with clients who are willing to do the work. I understand you are coming to me to help you navigate your emotions and/or circumstances and I'm willing to meet you where you're at. Our sessions will be beneficial if you are willing to use the tools/plans we develop and apply them to your real life situations.
