If you need therapy for court, I may not be a good fit for you. I will not be providing session notes to the court on your behalf. Also depending on what the nature of court is/why you need treatment, may not go beyond the initial assessment/first visit. If I do not feel comfortable with the reason, nature of court or any of anything along those lines; I will not be moving forward. I feel that I need to be direct with this as I have already provided previously "if you are seeking services for court; I would NOT be able to help with that. Please find another provider." Yet I am still receiving these referrals; therefore I am being direct about this and what expectations are.
My journey to mental healthcare
I did a lot of volunteer work and held a few AmeriCorps positions (America's version of PeaceCorps). I fell in love with helping people and I was told in order to achieve this, I would need to go back to school and complete my MSW.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a blend of professional expertise, lived experience, and deep compassion to every therapeutic relationship. My journey began long before I entered the mental health field—shaped by my years as a military veteran, where resilience, service, and human connection became the foundation of my work. Today, as a clinician and a mother, I approach therapy with the same grounded empathy, strength, and relational focus that guide me in both motherhood and service.
I specialize in supporting individuals living with severe mental illness, including those navigating complex trauma, mood disorders, psychosis, and long-term emotional or behavioral challenges. I understand that many of the people I work with have faced experiences that disrupted their sense of safety, identity, and hope. My role is to offer a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to move at a pace that honors their unique history and needs. I use trauma-informed, evidence-based practices rooted in acceptance, mindfulness, and emotional regulation to help clients build stability and reconnect with their strengths.
At the heart of my work is a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves a life worth living. I am passionate about helping people rediscover that possibility—whether through rebuilding coping skills, strengthening relationships, exploring values, or learning how to hold their pain without letting it define them. My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and centered on the person as a whole, not just their diagnosis or past experiences.
If you’re seeking a therapist who will meet you with authenticity, patience, and unwavering support, I’m here to walk alongside you as you create a life that feels meaningful, grounded, and truly your own.

Craig Steckowski is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based out of California and serves clients in both California and Virginia. He served in the Marine Corps prior to attending Alliant University in Irvine, CA for his therapy Master’s degree. After school, Craig then went on to work in Orange County. He was an advocate with the court system for mental health treatment and rehabilitation from chemical dependency. He also spent some time working for an agency that provided support to the homeless population and later, in a community clinic in New Hampshire where he helped to create services that met the needs of the community.
Each of these experiences helped to shape Craig’s philosophy toward therapy, which is that therapy should be a non-judgemental, welcoming space for his clients to be their unfiltered, authentic selves. “I just truly want therapy to be a place that you look forward to and value,” he wants clients to know. “It’s your space, and nothing you say, do, or experience is going to change my perception of you.”
His main goal as a therapist is to connect with his clients and offer them a place of solid, consistent, and positive support that they can depend on. He prioritizes maintaining a low enough caseload that clients can maintain a regular therapy schedule with him. He also encourages his clients to reach out between sessions if need be. “If you need me to be your hype man and help you through something, I’ll be there.”
In his free time, Craig focuses on doing things that help rejuvenate him which includes spending time outside and quality time with his wife. He also regularly seeks professional support from a trusted mentor in the field to ensure he is practicing mindfully and ethically.
“Sometimes, you have to make a decision that will break your heart but heal your soul.” - Trent Shelton. Sometimes you just can’t. Can’t say no, can’t find motivation, can’t sit through another meeting, can’t stop worrying, can’t wear the mask and pretend to be okay, and/or can’t get out of bed. The list goes on, because at some point or another, we all feel like our struggle is too much to handle. But “trouble don’t last always” and you do not have to face your battles alone. Through a solutions-focused and person-centered approach, my goal is to help you nourish you. I help clients find solutions to issues involving boundaries, self-care, time management, trauma, and stress. Together we can visualize, explore, and define who you are and what you want out of life.
I’m Dr. William C. Shearer (Dr. Bill), a California licensed psychologist since 1977.
I am the co-author of Mindful Choices for Well-Being, Being the Right Partner, The Couple’s Paradox, and Repair and Reconnection, Be the Change You Want to See in Your Relationship. Our book Getting It Right is pending publication.

My wife Robin, also a therapist, and I have developed an integrative model of couples therapy we call Mindful Choices Couples Therapy.

Finally, I specialize in treating stress and anxiety disorders such as panic disorder.
I was a CPS Social Worker before I was a therapist. Both of my degrees are in Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and hold licenses in California, Washington, and Oregon. I am very responsive, and your story matters to me. I have been practicing for 7 years. I assist clients ages 12 and older who are struggling with their mental health.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I received my Masters from the University of Southern California and have been practicing for over 10 years. I help adults struggling with stress and mental health issues become the best versions of themselves. I am passionate about meeting people where they are at and helping them feel better and reach their goals.
As an American Family Therapist, I work from a systemic perspective, focusing on the entire family unit rather than just the individual. My goal is to help families uncover and understand deep-rooted patterns and issues that interfere with healthy communication and connection. Through this process, I support each member in developing more effective ways of relating, resolving conflict, and fostering emotional safety with the family system. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and view my work through that lens. This means focusing on mindfulness, expanding tolerance for discomfort, increasing effectiveness in relationships and strengthening emotional regulation. When challenges arise in therapy, I often find that the root of the issue can be addressed through one of these core areas. For clients struggling with post-traumatic stress injuries-particularly common in military populations-I also incorporate Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help them reframe and work through trauma-related beliefs. My approach is structured, evidence-based, and tailored to the needs of each individual or family.
Hello, I am an LMFT for over 20 years, and my life experiences (growing up bicultural , traveling the world, working with military mental health, researching life and death) and drive for educating myself in many areas has given me a unique view and ability to assist those on a similar path of self knowledge. I enjoy the excitement of others achieving goals and making successful transitions in life. Life is an adventure that you create with your thoughts and desires. I am honored to help you get to the next place you want to be.
Hello,
Life comes at us fast, and hardships, relationship problems, and even significant trauma can throw us off track. Seeking out therapy is a major step in self-awareness and empowerment, and just getting to this point is something to be proud of.
However, a relationship with a therapist is just like any other relationship. Compatibility, understanding, and communication are key, so choosing a therapist who is right for you is important. Learn more about me, my therapy expertise, and how working with me can provide you with the tools to make the positive changes you’re looking for below. I look forward to hearing from you!
I’m Arturo, and I’m honored you’re here. My work as a therapist is grounded in resilience, compassion, and deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for support. After 24 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, including combat deployments, I transitioned into clinical work, earning a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (MFT) from Pepperdine University.
For the past four years, I’ve worked with underrepresented communities, supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and major life transitions. I’m especially committed to creating a safe, confidential space where men can speak openly—man to man—about the challenges we often carry silently. I also work with couples using Gottman‑informed approaches to improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, emotional relief, or stronger relationships, I offer practical tools, steady support, and a collaborative path toward healing and meaningful change.
I’m John Baker, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, specializing in trauma, relationships, and high-stress life transitions, including related issues such as anxiety, depression, and grief. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades in military service, federal law enforcement, and corporate investigations, experiences that shaped my direct, grounded, and accountability-focused approach to therapy.
I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship conflict, and the long-term impact of high-responsibility roles, including first responders, veterans, and professionals. My work integrates evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities such as CBT, Brainspotting, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), somatic approaches, and structured couples work.
Clients often describe me as calm, practical, and attuned—someone who understands both the psychological and real-world pressures they face. My goal is to help you move from surviving to functioning with greater clarity, emotional regulation, and connection, while respecting your pace and strengths.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist, complemented by my background as a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. My clinical training includes a Master’s in Social Work with a focus on Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality, which informs my understanding of how diverse life experiences shape individuals’ perspectives and interactions with their environments. This foundation allows me to approach therapy with cultural humility and a deep appreciation for the complexities of identity and systemic influences.
In my practice, I utilize a person-centered, solution-focused approach that prioritizes client autonomy and self-determination. I collaborate closely with clients to identify their unique challenges and barriers, empowering them to develop realistic and meaningful short-term and long-term goals. Together, we explore and optimize the therapeutic tools that clients have already been using, while considering the introduction of additional strategies when appropriate. My goal is to support clients in creating actionable plans that align with their values and aspirations, fostering resilience and sustainable growth in both their present lives and future endeavors.
I wholeheartedly believe it’s my role as a therapist to assist you in realizing, accessing and cultivating the internal and external resources that you already possess. Stress, conflict, and pain are those given aspects of life. I'll support you in healing, reconnecting and making empowering choices to achieve peace and feel more joy on a daily basis. Together, we will create a safe space for vulnerability and strength; both are needed for change. Our sessions will allow you to move through stuck points in your mind, relationships and environment. If you are a client of Kaiser Permanente, it is necessary to obtain a referral from Kaiser before proceeding. Once you have received the referral, Kaiser will provide you with a link to schedule a session with me. I specialize in helping individuals navigate grief, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship challenges, and behavioral concerns. Many people live with anxiety without realizing how deeply it affects their relationships, decision-making, and overall quality of life. If you find yourself feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted, you’re not alone—and support can make a meaningful difference.
Depression is not always obvious or dramatic; it often shows up as fatigue, irritability, disconnection, or a loss of motivation. It is one of the most common and misunderstood struggles people face today, yet it is also highly treatable. With the right support, individuals can regain clarity, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of control over their lives.
